How You Fit In:

As part of the Risk Team of Reserve Trust you’ll play a critical role in the development and operation of our risk program. To be successful in this role, you must be willing to quickly learn and adopt industry best practices to help the team meet regulatory expectations. You should be comfortable thinking outside the box and creating bespoke solutions that work for our unique company at its current maturity. You have no problem juggling numerous priorities at once, navigating complex situations, and executing key deliverables amid a constantly evolving environment. You have the drive to take on more responsibilities as this role evolves with the maturation of the program and the growth of the team.

 

This role reports to the Director of Enterprise Risk and will partner and collaborate with key stakeholders, including testing and compliance, ensuring the development of a robust and effective risk program.

 

What You’ll Do:

· Proactively assist in the development and execution of risk management activities, including supporting the continued build out of the Enterprise Risk Management framework and establishing a data-first approach to better understand potential risks, concerns, and outcomes

· Take a data-centric approach to risk management efforts using both internal and external data points relevant to the risk profile of Reserve Trust and its business and operating environments

· Support database creation, management, cleaning, and quality control for the Risk team

· Oversee control library for the enterprise in collaboration with control owners and in support of control testing efforts conducted by Independent Testing

· Manage key tasks and projects for the Risk team, including the annual risk assessment calendar and annual refresh of enterprise process and control inventories

· Support Risk team in development of Risk processes, tools, policies, standards, and procedures as directed by Risk management and in alignment with the Enterprise Risk Management program

· Support administration and oversight of policies and procedures for the enterprise, including overseeing periodic updates and managing document repository

· Identify and escalate emerging and/or changing risk and related control opportunities and enhancements

· Support key process changes, system changes and management, organization or governance structure, and key outsourcing arrangements/vendor exposure and how they impact operational risk management

· Create and maintain workflows for all Risk processes and support development and utilization or workflows by business units as a tool to identify risks and controls within processes

· Support business-line fraud identification efforts by sampling returned items, wire and ACH activity, new accounts, and other suspicious activities

· Monitor incident tracking in enterprise risk tool from creation through resolution, document process, and provide updates to management as required

· Follow all Reserve Trust policies and procedures

· Perform all job responsibilities on a timely basis and to a high standard of excellence

· Perform duties specific to the position and other functions as assigned

 

Qualifications:

· Preferred minimum of 3+ years’ experience as a risk or business analyst in FinTech or other financial services institutions, ideally within a payments business (either a standalone payments company or a payments-related division of a broader financial institution)

· Preferred Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university

· Experience in a startup environment, working at a FinTech, or working with a FinTech strongly preferred

· Basic understanding of risk and risk-management processes to identify and monitor risks within the organization

· Experience gathering, designing, and implementing program requirements preferred

· Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and meet defined deadlines

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills to inform managers and other stakeholders of results

· Ability to manage multiple projects and programs at the same time to complete work

· Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to independently solve problems

· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Lucidchart, and other analysis programs

· Basic knowledge of programming languages, such as SQL or Python

We feel passionately about equal pay for equal work, and transparency in compensation is one vehicle to achieve that. Total compensation for this role is market competitive, including a base salary range of $65,000 – 80,000. Reserve Trust intends to offer the selected candidate base pay within this range, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience and location.
