The role

Every day, thousands of home service professionals rely on Housecall Pro’s integrated payment processing solutions to get paid quickly and easily. As a Risk Analyst you will be responsible for protecting Housecall Pro from financial losses, while ensuring an appropriate balance between risk and customer experience. This includes reviewing high-risk payment transactions; identifying fraudulent activity; developing insights that improve our loss mitigation strategies; and staying informed of the latest fraud trends affecting the payment card industry.

The person we are looking for is analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable making high-impact decisions under pressure. They wake up everyday ready to investigate and they thrive on being on the front-line of protecting our company and customers from real and potential threats. They are capable of processing large amounts of information quickly, communicating clearly and effectively, and working collaboratively in a team environment.

What you’ll be doing

  • Review, identify, and investigate high-risk payment transactions
  • Conduct analysis on merchants and transaction activity to make data-driven decisions regarding risk and creditworthiness
  • Evaluate new accounts and determine their eligibility to utilize our payment processing solutions
  • Handle end-to-end management and documentation of cases
  • Stay current with credit card fraud trends and communicate them effectively across the company
  • Collaborate with senior risk leaders, analytics and engineering to enhance existing loss prevention strategies and identify new opportunities for improvement
  • Identify and propose improvements to internal processes that enable greater automation and efficiency in dispositioning cases

Compensation:

Salary Range: $45,000/yr - $65,000/yr


Minimum qualifications:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to make data-driven, high-impact decisions under conditions of uncertainty
  • Ability to learn quickly and on the fly
  • A problem solver, you search for the why’s 

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelors in Accounting, Economics, or similar
  • Experience with fraud detection and prevention
  • Experience with credit underwriting
  • Cursory understanding of predictive algorithms
  • Experience with Salesforce
  • Experience with Stripe
  • SQL

Location

We are actively hiring in San Diego, CA and Denver, CO. Majority of our employees work remotely but we have an office in the RINO district if employees choose to come in.
