We are seeking a Market Insights and Engagement Manager to join our team and help us achieve our ambitious goals for our business and for the planet.

What you get to do: 

Market Insights and Engagement (MI&E) exists to provide market intelligence updates to inform client conversations and to build the sales pipeline. The team also conducts market analyses, high-impact regulatory support, and uses market insights to directly inform near-term sales opportunities. The ideal candidate will be passionate about energy utility policy & regulation, know how to manage a team, contracts, and processes, and excel at translating market insights into business impacts to internal stakeholders. This job requires an in-depth working knowledge of utilities and the regulatory process.

What you will contribute:

  • Manage and direct market intelligence resources, knowledge transfer of market and regulatory updates, in-depth market analyses, and mitigation strategies for regulatory barriers through collaboration with Districts and cross-functional groups that utilize and consume market data and analyses
  • Create workforce plans to ensure efficient use of resources
  • Support the development of sales pipeline and of regular reports and presentations to the Engage & Grow Pillar to inform the commercial strategy
  • Partner with internal key stakeholders to ensure needs are understood prior to developing market intelligence and analysis
  • Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders in support of client needs, including industry trade organizations

What you bring to Uplight:

  • Requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience in the energy industry, including managing a team
  • Proven industry expertise in energy utility market intelligence, policy & regulation research, and/or demand-side management. Foundational knowledge of SaaS and/or software is a plus
  • Proven experience in understanding consequences of new and changing regulations on business impact and outcomes and succinctly communicating relevant insights to different stakeholders, including leadership
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to handle multiple projects/tasks simultaneously. Extremely process and policy-oriented. Agile experience is a plus.
  • Experience working with Salesforce as a CRM or data management platform is a plus
  • When restrictions are lifted you can expect no more than 10% travel

Salary Range: $70,000 to $92,500 (dependent on experience)

Our Boulder office has plenty of nearby restaurants, bars and hotels for our visiting employees, as well as in office employees to enjoy. We have on-site parking, and when you enjoy a walk near the office - you can take in the views of the Beautiful Boulder FlatIron Mountains nearby - Enjoy!
