In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the Compliance Systems and Analytics (CS&A) group in developing and executing solutions for Compliance needs across systems and processes and supporting their direct manager's objectives and those of CS&A. This role supports the Compliance department and as a result corporate and department policy. This position will contribute to the design and development of back office monitoring programs and provide analytics support for Western Union's Compliance Analytics & Design team.

In this role, you will also support the ongoing enhancement of risk-based program designs within the Compliance Systems & Analytics group. This includes assessments associated with organization, clients, corridors, products, and geographies. Furthermore, the position will play an analytical role in evolving control and monitoring programs to be more dynamic as system capabilities are enhanced. Also contributes to the development, implementation and enforcement of policies, procedures, and programs designed to minimize potential money laundering risk within the established strategies of the Department.

In this role you will develop and execute compliance solutions in support of the CS&A group and Compliance department as a whole. Analyze issues and challenges in the role's area of responsibility and propose solutions. Partner with Compliance and Companywide stakeholders to achieve results for CS&A and the Compliance department. Support testing, review and improvement of the position's specific responsibilities. Deliver assigned projects in a timely and high-quality manner.

You will follow department and company policies and procedures. Support Compliance systems projects assigned by leadership or management. Manage special projects needs as assigned by the CS&A management. Identify risks specific to the business and design potential controls through data analysis. Present findings from analysis projects to stakeholders
 

In this role you will need experience in Compliance, technology, project management or related fields a plus. At least three years of professional experience, preferably more. Four-year college degree strongly preferred. Must have a clear understanding of technology, Compliance, compliance risk and risk mitigation strategies in support of the Global Compliance. Track record of successful execution of cross-functional Initiatives working with a diverse group of people including departmental leaders, international resources and system users. Demonstrated ability to achieve goals with limited supervision. Strong and effective planning, analysis and problem-solving skills. Leadership and management skills a plus. Excellent written communication skills and ability to produce high quality materials for a global audience.

You will need advanced data analysis skills and the ability to summarize findings for a global audience. Able to effectively identify and present risks, controls and residual risks. Understanding of automated AML controls and systems in order to determine the level of risk mitigation provided by each, and propose enhancements where necessary. Understanding of AML and Fraud investigation processes and how they are used to mitigate risks. Strong ability to analyze large data sets using SQL, with the intention of designing risk based controls and back office monitoring programs. Able to effectively present analytical data and control recommendations to business users at the Director level/Executive level.

Annual base salary gross: $71,192-121,476. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the Western Union salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and proficiency for the role. The base salary is one component of Western Union’s total compensation package for employees.
