Gloo, headquartered in beautiful Boulder, Colorado, builds software for people and organizations dedicated to improving lives. We’re leveraging the same exponential tech that’s driving success in other industries and making it available through tools such as big data, custom assessments, an engagement app and eventually an entire market network focused on growth. As one of Boulder’s most successful and innovative tech companies, Gloo needs more talented professionals who are driven to make a positive impact on humanity. Are you one of them?

As a member of our Trust team, you will be analyzing and improving our existing privacy and trust systems. You are the eyes and ears of the team, and are excited about innovation, not just managing business as usual. You understand compliance but have an appreciation for balancing business value. Your success will be a combination of your experience building privacy and data protection programs and your ability to collaborate with operations, engineering, and product teams. Our business and ability to serve our champions is dependent upon the trust we develop, and you are central to that core value proposition. If you are excited to put your experience to work where it really matters, let’s talk.

What you'll be doing:

  • Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders to provide proactive thought leadership ensuring privacy risks are identified and effectively managed
  • Managing the prioritization of business needs along with team and partner capabilities to support an effective SPC program
  • Collaborating with internal teams to document and maintain a data inventory and registry of processing activities
  • Identifying potential areas of risk and compliance vulnerability – implementing action plans for resolution and remediation of future situations
  • Aligning advanced technologies and privacy by design principles to ensure data use meets established regulatory compliance – this starts in the first stages of development
  • Identifying and mitigating risks across the company through privacy impact assessments of products, services, and operational processes
  • Coordinating with trust operations to facilitate training and events to raise awareness of internal policies regarding privacy and data usage
  • Effectively communicating program progress, escalations, and analysis to key stakeholders

What you’ll bring to the position:

  • BS in information security, computer science, software engineering or related discipline
  • 3+ years of experience in privacy or data protection preferably with a growth stage company – you might have experience building the original corporate privacy program
  • Certified Information Privacy Professional through the IAPP or relevant technical certifications in a security-related curriculum
  • Ability to drive projects by identifying and resolving legal and business issues with confidence
  • Highly collaborative - you’ve been active on a multi-functional team and have a gift for inspiring others toward a common goal.
  • Ability to balance risk in ambiguous and complex situations with adaptable processes
  • Impeccable integrity well-honed analytical and communication skills

Our Team members enjoy:

  • Compensation and bonus commensurate with experience
  • Plenty of time off to keep you balanced
  • Medical with HSA contribution
  • A dynamic, talented team, dedicated to changing the world and building an incredible business
  • Beautiful office space in downtown Boulder on Pearl Street, steps from coffee shops and blocks from hiking trails
  • Company Happy Hour Fridays
  • Fresh fruit, snacks, coffee and sodas

Applications welcomed from those who are US Citizens or hold a Green Card.
