GIS Analyst

Position Description
Utilizes Geographic Information Systems techniques to provide a clearer and concise understanding of certain variables in a given geographic location. Extracts data from GIS software and uses varying analysis methods to arrive at results. Recommends appropriate reactionary strategies in response to GIS analysis. Provides maps and data sets to ‘Internal/External’ customers to supplement analysis. Advanced knowledge of GIS software (GESW and ESRI, MapInfo,) products and technology. Reporting through Sr. GIS Analyst and working in conjunction with GIS Analysts II, III, Fiber Engineers, OSP Technicians, OSP Managers and Sr level staff. GIS analysts take an analytical approach to tasks. They have strong IT skills, can manipulate complex databases, and are highly detail oriented. Typically, employers require a bachelor’s degree in computer science, geography, or a similar field, as well as the following abilities:
Responsibilities
Performs a variety of tasks within the GIS Analyst role. Ability to take Lead on Corporate, Product Group and or Team projects and objectives.
A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Produce project documents for our internal and external customers via presentations, maps and or data exports.
Day to day responsibilities would include but not inclusive of the ownership ‘Task Requests’ , ‘Work Order Items’ from Salesforce, email and or phone requests for Data Analytics, Customer Data/Map requests, Other duties may include specific requests from internal customers such as Finance, Corporate Executives, Network Operations, Sales, Engineering and Marketing. Also producing data reports for specific external customers as required.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Geography and or 2-5 years of experience in the office and or field in a related area of Telecommunications, Network Engineering. GIS Services.
No additional Certification/Licensure required
Familiar with a variety of the GIS industry concepts, practices, and procedures.
Special considerations and prerequisites
Base salary range in CO: $75,500-$100,650
