Fraud Data Analyst

The OnDeck Fraud Team is responsible for preventing millions of dollars in fraud loss every month by going toe-to-toe with OnDeck’s ever evolving adversaries. The Fraud Data Analyst will be crucial to handling on-going portfolio monitoring and fraud operations data analysis. The Analyst will contribute their talents to developing and maintaining fraud business rules, identifying shifting patterns in fraud indicators, and helping to develop reporting that illustrates these critical findings for cross-functional consumption.
As a Fraud Data Analyst at OnDeck on the Fraud team, you will work on:
- All Fraud Operational Reporting including designing KPI, Scorecards, and Dashboards
- Data pulls and Fraud case analytics
- Some aspects of Fraud modeling and scenario analysis
- Regression analysis on rule implementations; Focus on impacts and efficacy
- Works closely with Operations and Operations Strategy Business Intelligence teams
- Design and produce Daily, Weekly and Monthly Reports that are accurate and timely
- Produce Ad Hoc reporting on all operational metrics and provide team and individual level insight
- Work with management on processes and workflows to enhance Fraud and Financial Intelligence organizational effectiveness
- Runs and distributes daily reports to Fraud and Operations management
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by tracking emerging trends in analytical reporting, attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications
Qualifications for success:
- Experienced and highly proficient with SQL (Snowflake) and Tableau
- Moderate experience with analytic tools such as R or other data science packages
- Familiarity and experience with the Atlassian product suite – Jira, Confluence, Stash – or other workflow management/SCRUM development platforms
- Strong analytical skills and data manipulation experience
- Strong skills in Microsoft products including PowerPoint, Word and Excel
- Ability to multi-task, work independently, and stay focused in a dynamic fast paced environment
- Energized by entrepreneurial environment and a less structured workplace
- Strong customer service focus
- Persistent, resilient, organized and detail oriented
- Team player who can roll up their sleeves and get involved in everything from big projects to mundane, simple tasks - A true go-getter!
- Not easily frazzled and strong time management skills during busy and slower periods throughout the day
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to identify issues and make recommendations
- Outside-the-box thinker with a passion for finding meaningful patterns in diverse data sets
Nice-to-haves (not required):
- Experience with Salesforce
- Prior experience in Fraud, AML or other financial crimes related space highly desirable
- Working knowledge internet session and device data is desirable
- Bachelor’s degree in quantitative field is nice to have, but not required
