Job Title: Epic Interface Analyst

Office location.  Remote (Austin, TX Preferred)

Under general supervision, the Interface Analysts are the primary support contact for interfaces with their application, such as an EMR or other primary enterprise application. They coordinate all issues that arise during integration projects and during support of their application's interfaces, adhering to Invitae’s policies, procedures, and business operations.  Manages or supports, as required, the entire cycle of interface application development, including analysis, design, specification, implementation, go-live, and support. Works closely with project managers, business and clinical application teams, and technical teams to ensure that interfaces meet the needs of the end users.  Provides a strong understanding of the application and its integration requirements, and advises management and users on data mapping concepts and functional capabilities.

What you’ll do:

  • Manage the entire cycle of interface application development – Manage interface application development from beginning to end, including interface analysis, design, specification, implementation, go-live and support. Work closely with application teams, subject matter experts, and third-party application experts to determine the business needs for interfaces, document the requirements, and configure the interfaces per the determined requirements. Coordinate and/or participate in interface testing, build, cutover planning, and go-live support, by engaging subject matter experts, vendors, and interface engine developers.
  • Integration Environment Maintenance and Support - Provide proactive support by monitoring live interfaces and collaborating with experts to provide permanent resolutions to problems.  Identifies and troubleshoots complex problems with the interfaces.  Collaborates with interface engine analysts, application analysts, subject matter experts, and vendors to provide permanent resolution to operational, communication, data integrity, or other integration issues.
  • Project / Request Coordination, Implementation and Management – Coordinates and/or participates in projects (include software updates/change) and application teams. Analyzes business and user needs and documents requirements.  Work with interface engine developers to develop data-translation routines and methods to support the application's and external systems' data and format needs.  Ensure that results are achieved and deadlines are met. Enacts and ensures change control procedures are followed.
  • Collaboration with departments and IT partners – Develops and maintains a working relationship with users and is a liaison for integration requests.  Guides and advises less-experienced Integration Analysts and Business / Application Analysts.  Develops and conducts internal training for staff.

What you bring: 

  • Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years experience in IT, business, or healthcare field or commensurate experience. Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.
  • Knowledge of HL7.
  • Demonstrated ability to be self-directed with excellent organizational, analytical, writing, interpersonal and project related skills.
  • Strong communication skills with ability to collaborate at multiple organizational levels across the organization.
  • Project management experience.
