- Building and leading a team in the development and implementation of innovative data sciences approaches for the analysis of large datasets generated by NGS technologies
- Contribute to the management of next-generation sequencing (NGS) data analysis pipelines
- Collaborate and consult with internal and external researchers on the analyses of NGS data and implement/adopt new algorithms for data analysis
- Capitalize on opportunities to use data science approaches to generate new value from Archer’s data
- Will put to use your programming skills (Python, R) and experience using relational databases as well as cloud services for storage and computing
- Strategically identify opportunities for improvement of analytical pipelines and data management tools that can enhance data analysis strategies in the clinical setting
- Will work with the clinical operations and data management teams to establish, implement and execute acceptable QC/QA practices for all data generated
- Manage projects, both in house as well as those outsourced to service providers
- Work with regulated environments such as ISO/GCP/GMP when developing data infrastructure
- Will collaborate with a diverse and global group of scientists, research associates
- Evaluate new technologies, tool, and collaborations for high throughput data generation and analysis to address the broader research goals of ArcherDX
- Attract and develop a world-class team of data scientists and other essential team members and build a culture of innovation that fosters teamwork
- Adapt management and mentoring practices that account for diverse backgrounds and experience levels
- MS or Ph.D. in Computational Biology or related discipline
- 10 years of data science experience in life sciences, with 2+ years in biopharmaceutical research
- 5 years of management experience
- Academic or professional background in genomics and NGS analysis
- Understanding of theory and hands-on experience with a broad range of current data sciences and analytical tools, methods, and applications
- Ability to work in a fast-paced matrix environment with cross-functional teams and competing priorities
- Experience designing strategy in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex concepts to non-experts
- Motivated, conveys a sense of urgency
