We are seeking a Director of Strategy to lead and manage the Analytics team and report directly into our Chief Strategy Officer. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to lead the development of results-oriented and action driven recommendations to key business questions, backed by sound business analytics, all in favor of supporting long term growth and strategic decisions. With your team and in partnership with stakeholders across the company, this role will encompass various strategic initiatives and work with teams to implement approved recommendations. What You’ll Do:

  • Partner with key executive and department leadership level stakeholders to refine aspects of business strategy with critical data and insights to ultimately drive achievement of key business targets.
  • Define and operationalize a centralized and strategic data insights & analytics approach to integrate the analytics function across the entire organization.
  • Oversight and management over existing business intelligence tools and underlying data models.  Our systems are built on a robust tech stack, and you will be directly responsible for managing certain tools, including Looker.
  • Build relationships with all teams to identify and lead initiatives that deliver insights for the business; accountable for establishing and maintaining a culture of insights-driven decision making.
  • Distill research data down to focus on the most important insights, linking insights together in frameworks or principles for design and articulating them in a cogent way to drive impact.
  • Identify, implement, refine, and scale analytics systems, methods and tools to help us scale research efforts and insights across multiple products, services and workstreams.
  • Develop points of view through cross-project synthesis to inspire colleagues and deepen our position as market leaders.
  • Partner closely with key stakeholders across the major functions of the business, including Product, Growth/Marketing, Operations, Design Experience, Strategy, Finance and Development to define and tackle the most important questions facing the business.
  • Embrace a mixture of both quantitative and qualitative methods to back-up strategic recommendations with robust and reliable data.
  • Responsible for building, managing and developing the Analytics team, as well as direct line management over business intelligence analysts.

When you join us you’ll bring:

  • Must have a passion for what we are building, the brand, and the client experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Mathematics, Computer / Data Science, or Engineering a plus.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in areas including design research, marketing analytics, market research, consumer insights, or user experience in either a corporate or consultancy environment with a focus on B2C/D2C.
  • Experience in managing people and influencing decision making with senior leaders.  Track record of attracting, developing and leading strong talent and building high performance teams a must.
  • A superior strategic and analytical thinking with a proven ability to conceptualize problems and abstract the dynamics of an evolving strategic business model.  You love the idea of uncovering insights that unlock business growth and product offerings that appeal to an ever wider base of loyal, happy customers .
  • Analytical with strong, demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking capabilities and comfortable using self-service quantitative and qualitative research tools with strong experience in innovation and customer insights.

  • A skilled data storyteller; you are seamlessly able to weave together disparate sources of information into a holistic story with strong recommendations based on market trends and consumer facts. 
  • An owner through and through. You have a willingness to tackle problems through to solutions and an ability to work both independently and across functions.
  • Curious, nearly to a fault; your insatiable desire to get beyond surface level learning and uncover true insight is fueled by asking 2nd, 3rd and 4th order questions.
  • An excellent communicator. You have excellent communication and presentation skills. You are highly organized, have exceptional attention to detail, and proven project management capabilities.
  • Unwaveringly objective; you represent the voice of the consumer in all situations, especially when learning is counter to initial hypotheses or prior learning.  

Additional Details:

  • This is a full-time exempt position headquartered in Denver, CO.  While we are all currently working from home until at least August, our goal is to eventually return to our beautiful Denver office and collaborate in person on a hybrid work from home and work from office model.
  • Targeted compensation for this role starts at $150K dependent upon experience.  This role will also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on both company and individual performance.
