Director of Business Intelligence
POSITION SUMMARY
AdAction Interactive is seeking a practiced Director of Business Intelligence to elevate the way we use data in our organization to drive strategic, smart business decisions more effectively and efficiently. This person will be responsible for the strategic and tactical decisions for the business intelligence department; including the activities, tools, methods, processes and outputs.
The Director of BI will be responsible for leading a group of analysts, providing mentorship on technical and strategic skills, while ensuring that the systems, processes, and activities of the Business Intelligence team enhance business decision making capabilities across the organization.
The Director will facilitate organizational data strategies including topics of governance, design, implementation, performance and general usage, working closely with all parts of the business. The right candidate will have expertise in data sourcing and data prep concepts and tools, along with core strengths in data visualization concepts and skills. The Director will be our Tableau Administrator and oversee the general effectiveness of dashboards used within our organization.
The Director of BI will be a Salesforce Administrator in our organization. As a strategic thinker and problem solver, he or she will be responsible for improving business operations and processes utilizing Salesforce Process Builder. The Director will employ strong written and verbal communication skills to coordinate and facilitate cross departmental conversations and process improvements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and mentor a team of analysts to support the overall business and drive continuous improvement around analytics capabilities.
- Own and manage the business intelligence infrastructure (data management and visualization capabilities).
- Develop, implement, and optimize analytical processes and associated KPIs to improve how we measure and report on the performance of campaigns.
- Own the data preparation processes and activities.
- Own the data sourcing process and activities.
- Assume the role of analytical thought leader and reporting manager.
- Partner with Product and other internal teams to derive business insights from data and translate those insights into actionable business recommendations.
- Work with Engineering and Product to understand and prioritize data and information requirements.
- Drive adoption of BI tools across the organization to enhance business decision-making capabilities.
- Be a Tableau Admin; you’ll be responsible for managing the effectiveness of dashboards released ensuring that dashboard outputs designed by the analysts meet the needs of the business user.
- Be a Salesforce Admin; you’ll be responsible for analyzing and improving the business workflows for various organizational initiatives.
- Overseeing monthly invoice processes and activities.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of BI managerial experience with both technical and non-technical experience
- 3+ years of experience designing dashboards & presenting insights to an audience in Tableau or another data visualization tool.
- 2+ years of experience in data prep tools and processes.
- Skilled in SQL, and ETL processes.
- Required experience working with Data Architects in data warehouse context.
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
- Experience building and maintaining relationships with internal/external clients and partners.
- Experience conveying technical info to non-technical audiences.
- Skilled in strategic & analytical problem-solving.
- Experience in developing BI processes and systems.
- Preferred experience as a Salesforce Admin.
- Preferred experience as a Tableau Admin.
