General Summary:
As Database Publishing Specialist, you will support the Production team by editing and maintaining catalog metadata while maintaining consistency. The Database Publishing Specialist interacts with other departments to ensure quality control and assists with other various tasks within the reprint/production process.
You will sit directly with the Production team, work in close collaboration with IT, Marketing, Digital Catalog, and Purchasing teams, and report to the Director of Digital Production.
Core Functions:
- Assist in the development/maintenance of internal FileMaker Pro solutions (existing and new)
- Curate data for web output, book trade (ONIX) output, and dealer data feeds, catalogs, and internal use
- Responsible for the maintenance of all critical product metadata including proofing and maintaining consistency for data intended for catalogs, web output, book trade (ONIX) output, and dealer data feeds
- Identifies opportunities for SEO improvements
- Creates new records following specific guidelines and categorizing new records in order to place in all appropriate channels ensuring continuity of data
- Runs data queries to assist other departments
- Assists IT, Marketing and/or Production with special projects associated with data cleanup or creating more rich data
- Troubleshoots problematic data and works towards efficient strategies
- Converts and processes external data
- Inputs and maintains product data via the WebCRD reprinting system
- Provides copy editing and proofing for production, editorial, and/or other departments
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Strong experience reading and understanding musical concepts
- 2+ years of working experience in data maintenance, working in a production environment
- Music training and/or general knowledge of musical concepts with the ability to copy edit music and text
- Strong passion for data-driven solutions and consistency
- Working knowledge of FileMaker 9-16, including maintaining data and troubleshooting
- Strong organizational skills relating to classifying and cataloging a wide range of products with excellent attention to detail
- Strong knowledge of PC and Mac OS environments/hardware/peripherals experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (including Outlook, Word, Excel).
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in music or equivalent experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities
- Ability to collaborate, receive direction, follow specific guidelines, and manage pressure with a positive attitude
- Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud (including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, Distiller), QuarkXpress, AS400, Suitcase Fusion, ASANA, Slack, and/or FTP clients

Compensation:
Peaksware/AlfredMusic is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The per hour range for this role is $21.20 - $35.34. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, and certifications.
This role is eligible for variable compensation including bonus.

Work Environment:
