Position Description

This is a position for a data scientist/analytics engineer. The position requires a highly motivated, detail-oriented professional capable of both independent and small team performance on a variety of data science and advanced analytics projects spanning both commercial and government work.  

• Java coding experience is a big plus

Qualifications

Essential Requirements include:

• US citizenship is MANDATORY along with the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD security clearance. Only candidates with US citizenship will be considered
• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical work experience in data science/machine learning or related fields
• Minimum of two years of professional data science (AI/machine learning/data mining), computer simulation and/or optimization experience; however, more senior candidates also encouraged to apply
• A portfolio demonstrating experience in effective and imaginative problem solving
• Experience using tools for statistical analysis, predictive analytics, machine learning
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Experience in translating customer requirements into effective data analytics and clear data visualizations
• The ability to interact with customers and fellow engineers to understand their requests, but know when to dig deeper to uncover the truly desired analytics

Expertise in any of the following areas is a plus:

• The ability to code software to run optimization, algorithms, simulation, mathematics, or data analytics
• Experience with R, Python, Tableau and/or other tools for scripting and data analysis and manipulation
