Job Description

Ent is seeking an experienced, self-directed, Data Scientist to support the needs of our fast-growing business. This is a unique opportunity to think big, insist on the highest standards, and invent, simplify, and scale new methodologies and data science solutions.

Do you have expertise in a range of data science methodologies and have a track record of developing machine learning (ML) models to answer business questions at scale? Do you live and breathe algorithms that lead to predictive and prescriptive analytics? In this role, you will apply scientific principles to business problems analyzing complex data sets to make rapid decisions for business leaders. You will create visualizations and develop models to drive data insights and scale algorithms. In partnership with engineers, analysts, and business owners, you will work backwards from business objectives to drive scalable solutions with statistical and machine learning models. You will be a technical leader influencing the analyses and best practices across multiple teams. Above all, you should be passionate about working with data to answer business questions and drive growth.

Qualifications

  • Build statistical and ML models to evaluate the historical performance and define predictive and prescriptive solutions including forecasts for sales, resource management, revenue, utilization, and other customer indicators.
  • Conduct all phases of research projects, including defining research questions, working with multiple data sources, building, and evaluating competing models, and interpreting and communicating the results.
  • Analyze patterns, trends, and synthesize large data sets with recommendations for business leaders.
  • Identify needed data for projects and understand underlying structure (distribution, variable independence, outliers, etc.), and develop process to help improve data quality.
  • Recommend, develop, and manage end-to-end machine learning/statistical processes and tools.
  • Other duties as required.

Minimum formal education required for this position:

Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis on coursework of a quantitative nature i.e. Business Analytics. Statistics. Information Systems. Or a related area.

Each year of relevant work experience may be exchanged for a year in a relevant degree program or vice versa. For example, a requirement of “Knowledge Consistent with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and 2+ years’ of accounting experience” could be substituted for a High School Diploma and 6 years of relevant accounting work experience or a Master’s Degree in Accounting and 0 years of work experience.

Minimum work experience:

8+ years’ experience in predictive modeling, data science and analysis to include at least 3+ years’ of experience with math/stats software (R, Matlab, SAS, Stata) or other domain specific software.

Key Attitudes / Characteristics / Specialized Knowledge / Skills for this position:

  • Experience with programming languages including Python.
  • Experience in a machine learning or data scientist role with a track record of building models.
  • Advanced experience with SQL and other scripting languages to manipulate large data sets with production level code.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in an ambiguous environment.
  • Experience with cloud-based technologies such as Azure, AWS, GCP, etc.
  • Experience using ML libraries, such as scikit-learn, pandas, numpy, etc.
  • Experience with business intelligence and data visualization and reporting tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, etc.).
  • Experience forecasting in sales and/or professional services.
  • Experience with data engineering concepts, workflows, and tools such as Airflow, Azure Data Factory, Data Bricks, etc.
  • Experience working with large datasets and familiarity with big data tools such as Spark and Hadoop.
  • Experience writing and presenting complex technical concepts to broad audiences.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills, ability to convey rigorous mathematical concepts and considerations to non-experts.
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite of products (Word/Excel/Outlook).

Typical Pay Range: $99,112.00 to $130,083.20 (This position is eligible for an annual corporate bonus based upon performance) Grade I17
