About the Team VIZIO is looking for a highly technical, hands-on Data Engineer for our Cloud Team. As a Data Engineer, you will be leading design and architecture of highly scalable, fault tolerant Cloud platform capable of processing millions of operations per minute coming from millions of TVs, efficiently store petabytes of data and provide fast insights from the data. This position can be located San Francisco, CA/ New York, NY/ Denver, CO/ Dallas, TX What You Will Do
- Quickly come up to speed on current pipeline and analytics, identify areas of improvement and adopt industry best-practices for data processing, movement and management
- Work with Engineering team on the design and development of new features and bug fixes
- Identify scalability and resiliency gaps, propose solution and work with Engineering team to address them
- Establish industry leading design patterns around Data ingest, compute, life-cycle and consumption
- Build robust monitoring infrastructure, develop strategy to get quick insights into various stages of data pipeline
- Hands-on experience with writing compute and memory efficient apps for streaming data
About You
- BS/MS in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of progressive industry experience in design and implementation of data focused cloud software
- Experience with designing and implementing real-time and batch processing pipelines
- Strong understanding of in-memory processing and data formats (Avro, Parquet, Json etc.)
- Experience with automated analysis of data quality and validation
- Strong programming skills in Python
- Hands-on Experience with the following or equivalent technologies - Spark, Kafka, Kubernetes, Airflow, NoSQL DBs
- Good to have Experience: Kinesis, Redshift, RDS, SQS
