Data Engineer:
OrthoFi is looking for an experienced Data Engineer with a passion for developing solutions that generate high impact to the business. This is an important technical role in our expanding Data & Analytics team. You will be responsible for the development and implementation of our new Data & Analytics platform. This is a unique opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a new platform build.
As a Data Engineer, you will work with our Data Architect and other leadership using your business acumen to understand the needs of our clients and develop an innovative platform that will deliver to those needs. You will collaborate with other team members and help build a data-driven culture of insight and well-informed decisions.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Understand the data and analytics needs of our clients and internal stakeholders
Developing the architecture for our new data & analytics platform to support analytics and data science / machine learning
Collaborating with the Data Architect in the design of data models and data movement processes that support analytics and data science
Development of the platform functionality and ELT/ETL processes
Design and develop analytics and interactive visualizations that create business insights and clearly communicate data and trends
Develop complex SQL queries to obtain data from our source systems
Perform data validation and quality assurance to ensure data integrity and accuracy
Desired Skills and Experience:
Understanding of modern data architectures including streaming, big data technologies, schema on read and real-time data analysis on the AWS platform
Experience designing and developing ELT/ETL and data movement processes with an emphasis on data quality and data integrity
Experience developing advanced SQL queries with complex joins, subqueries and calculations
Strong Python skills and knowledge
Demonstrate a solid understanding of the business in which you are working
Experience performing data validation and quality assurance of data engineering practices
Ability to communicate complex technical and data concepts to less technical audiences
Git experience
Agile / Scrum experience
Data warehousing experience
Tableau experience a plus
Healthcare and/or Insurance Service experience a plus
