Data Engineer III - Content
We work to solve complex technical problems that improve the world of Healthcare. These problems span a variety of core topics in computer science ranging from databases, user interfaces, algorithms and system architecture. We are looking for a data engineer to join our team who is interested in using current technologies to solve real world problems impacting the global healthcare market.
Principle duties and responsibilities:
- Design and build database and ETL functionality for GHX products.
- Utilize multiple database technologies hosted in an AWS environment, including relational and schema less databases.
- Utilize AWS Lambda and similar technologies to build complex ETL functionality.
- Be responsible for all aspects of data solution development, including design, testing, release, production support and technical documentation.
- Be part of an agile development team that releases software every 2 weeks.
- Attend design and code reviews.
- Quickly learn and apply new technologies to solve complex technical problems.
- Develop a deep understanding of GHX products and underlying data models.
- Work closely with product managers to develop creative solutions to meet the needs of GHX customers around the world.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline
- 5 years of experience designing complex relational schemas in any relational database
- 5 years of experience developing complex ETL processes in a complex environment
- 5 years of experience in database programming using SQL and stored procedures
- 5 years of experience tuning and optimizing queries and database configuration
- Expert level knowledge of data modeling and schema design
- 3-5 years working in an agile development environment
Desired Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience developing in an AWS environment and using services such as SQS, Lambda, DynamoDB, Aurora, S3, RDS and EC2
- Experience using a workflow engine such as Java BPMN
- 1-3 years of experience programming in Python
