The Data Analyst position is ideal for a self-motivated individual that is passionate about data and has 1-3 years of experience with tag analyzing, reporting and interpreting complex data.  You will support the Data Science Department by conducting research, building statistical models, and performing statistical analyses. This work will advance Healthgrades’ central initiative to provide hospital- and physician-related measures of healthcare quality to consumers.  If this sounds like you, then we'd love to have you join the Healthgrades Team.

What you will do:

  • Conduct data analysis using appropriate statistical methodology and diagnostic/exploratory tests
  • Document and communicate findings and insights to business unit leaders and/or clients and clinical audiences on healthcare clinical outcomes
  • Work in both R studio and MSSQL to analyze and answer healthcare-related questions
  • Develop and deploy interactive reports for internal stakeholders utilizing SSRS
  • Identify issues related to data, data sources, and processing; as well as, optimizing queries for performance
  • Research, write, and review current or future analysis methodologies and develop new metrics for associated methodologies. Continually research methodologies used by other organizations or researchers
  • Document methodologies, variations and quality assurance processes

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in math, statistics, or computer science
  • Strong tSQL experience including knowledge of large-scale relational databases, data transformation, data queries, stored procedures, views and scheduled processes
  • At least 1 year experience coding in R, Python, or SAS
  • At least 2 years experience coding in tSQL or other closely related SQL flavor
  • Experience in applied statistics, epidemiology, and/or health care analytics-related field
  • Familiarity with statistical modeling methodologies and analytical tools, including advanced regression methods such as Logistic Regression, HLM, elastic nets, and PCA
  • Proven analytical skills with the ability to review complex data, draw conclusions and make recommendations with a desire for conducting analytical deep dives
  • Experience with SSRS, including the ability to update existing report, and build out new reports from scratch, tailored to the needs of various internal and external stakeholders
  • Proven ability to provide descriptive explanatory summaries of statistical methods used to a variety of audiences, including consumers, patients and executive leadership
  • A passion for the healthcare industry and for solving problems through intelligent and high-quality research

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $55,000 - $68,000 annually*
