Job Description

The Data Analyst is responsible for requirement analysis, design, integration, and development of complex business intelligence reporting projects. The successful candidate will work closely with others in the development group to implement product enhancements, improve software features and usage, adhere to development standards and practices, and test the results.

Responsibilities

• Collect and analyze usage and performance across all GigSmart platforms
• Recommend opportunities to improve user experience, manage capacity, and improve delivery across all systems and services
• Interpreting data, analyzing results using statistical techniques
• Developing and implementing data analyses, data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality
• Acquiring data from primary and secondary data sources and maintaining databases
• Evaluating business processes, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas of improvement, and developing solutions
• Documenting and communicating the results of your efforts
• Determine reporting needs: design, create, and generate reports required to facilitate effective business decisions
• Monitor user usage, system reporting tools, and production systems. Recommend and make enhancements to reports and supporting systems

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
• Data analysis skills in a business context with demonstrated success in presenting large data sets in a clear and compelling manner that inspires action
• Distinctive problem solving and analysis skills and impeccable business judgement
• Excellent written and oral communicator
• Experience creating detailed reports and giving presentations
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel
• Ability to communicate findings with non-experts
• Ability to thrive in a start-up environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously
• Data modeling experience
• Proven experience analyzing complex issues and / or requests to provide effective solutions with the ability to identify root cause, communicate options and propose solutions

Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
• 2+ years of experience in an analytical field such as mathematics, physics, statistics, computer science, engineering, operations research, economics, etc.

Technical Requirements

• SQL
• Python
• Google Analytics
• Experience with PostgreSQL is a plus
