Data Analyst - Reconciliations

As the Data Analyst for Reconciliations, you will take on an important role by reconciling OnDeck loan activity to our bank statements. Your work will provide the data used in our financial reporting. This is a cross-functional role that will work with the Finance, Customer Service and Data Warehouse teams to ensure the integrity of our data.
As Data Analyst-Reconciliations at OnDeck on the Customer Service/Payment Processing team, you will:
- Reconcile OnDeck loan activity to bank statements on a daily basis, using SQL and the Recon tool
- Maintain the Recon tool and perform any updates on the Recon matching roles as necessary
- Collaborate with stakeholders such as the Data Warehouse team, Customer Service and Accounting teams to troubleshoot any issues and make process improvements to the Recon process
- Document and help gain understanding of financialdata quality issues.
- Vendor management for the Recon tool
- Research and coordinate any payment issues with the Customer Service team
- Partner with the Accounting team to ensure proper recording of cash and loan activity
- Provide accurate financial data and reports to the Accounting and Capital Markets team
- Collaborate with Data Warehouse team to ensure integrity of data
- Assist our Payment Processing team when needed by processing daily wires, checks, refunds, fees and any other items required for efficient and accurate handling.
- Work in multiple inhouse tools including CALICO and Salesforce to accurately track and report Payment Processing.
Necessary qualifications for success:
- At least a 4 year college degree
- At least 1-2 years of data analyst or business intelligence work experience
- Strong SQL and Excel skills
- Ability to work with and manipulate data and ensure data quality
- Strong communication skills
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently while also enjoying collaborating with cross-functional teams and other analysts
Nice-to-haves (not required):
- Experience with reconciliation program such as SS&C Recon
- Finance background
- Matillion, Python
