Headquartered in Denver’s Five Points neighborhood, with offices in Cincinnati, we are currently looking for a smart, motivated Data Analyst to support one of our key ongoing programs that focuses on evaluating retail activities in major US airports.

 

Position overview:

We are looking for an advanced Excel user with a working knowledge of SQL, who has a passion for data, and a careful eye for accuracy.  The Data Analyst will work closely with the Project Executive to collect source data from various sources, load the data into SQL and Excel models to generate ad hoc and standard reporting. The position requires a strong understanding of program policy, and the ability to apply that knowledge to solving complex data problems. Our ideal candidate will appreciate quantitative analysis, while having the ability to communicate regularly with internal and external project stakeholders.

We are looking for someone who is curious by nature, interested in the implementation of public policy initiatives, and how to make those initiatives work better. The Data Analyst will have personal responsibility and ownership for achieving project objectives and generating ideas for improvement. You will also have opportunities to interface with our other project teams and clients working on interesting challenges in early childhood education, technology, and real estate.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Works with project executives, clients, stakeholders, and vendors to understand, articulate, and quantify project outcomes and deliverables
  • Makes initial assessment of issues or problem areas by researching best practices, trends, and historical and current data
  • Defines the scope of work and conducts research to obtain necessary information and data
  • Develops methodology for the collection of relevant data
  • Understands program policy at the detailed and strategic levels
  • Supports other company projects related to financial modeling and analysis
  • Responds to and handles one-off data analysis requests as needed for clients in our various businesses
  • Helps with overall market research designed to help further the overall growth of the company
  • Assembles data into meaningful formats to facilitate analysis and create useful and relevant reports
  • Analyzes data for accuracy and anomalies, highlighting and working to resolve errors
  • Develops proposals and recommendations based on research and analysis for new, revised and/or improved work processes, policies, and procedures
  • Understands data processing fundamentals and the ultimate goals for the data analysis and reporting
  • Communicates professionally and effectively both in writing and in-person with co-workers, managers and clients to share recommendations and analytical findings
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • English language fluency
  • Bachelor’s degree, ideally in Mathematics, Finance, Engineering or equivalent quantitative field
  • 2 years of experience in a quantitative or data analysis-related field
  • Expert with Microsoft Excel
  • Understanding of and desire to learn SQL
  • Experience handling sensitive and confidential inquiries
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent communication skills
  • High-level of accuracy
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and work as part of a team
  • Ability to conduct basic market research and present findings
  • Interest in public policy
