POSITION SUMMARY:

 

ArcherDX has an opening for a Computational Biologist on the RUO Assay Development team. This position will combine knowledge of molecular biology and genomics with scientific and quantitative expertise to deliver actionable insights to the team. This position will interface with assay development scientists, data scientists, statisticians, and other product development personnel to promote data-based knowledge and drive new understanding central to Archer’s platform. This position will also aid in process development and data management for the RUO Personalized Cancer Monitoring product offering as these areas are both key to success for new product development.

 

This position can work from anywhere in the U.S.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Job performance will involve a variety of activities including:

  • Collaborate with scientists, clinical personnel, software developers, and data managers to develop a deep understanding of Archer’s platform and key product development questions
  • Contribute scientific expertise, and formulate broad and focused product development questions associated with cancer genomics
  • Address scientific questions using computational biology approaches including scripting, statistical analysis, data visualization
  • Interpret and communicate findings to biologists and others via reports and presentations
  • Recognize process improvement needs and collaborate with other personnel to address them

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • 2+ years professional experience in a biotech company or exceptional academic performance
  • Expertise in genomics, high-throughput sequence datasets, and molecular biology
  • Solid quantitative skills including statistical model fitting and hypothesis testing
  • Competent in relevant computational techniques (Python, bash, bioinformatic tools)
  • The ability to effectively communicate complex scientific ideas
  • Exceptional organization skills and attention to detail
  • Highly motivated and ability to work independently
  • Experience with oncology research (Desired)
  • Experience working with medical devices, diagnostics, and/or oncology assays (Desired)

EDUCATION:

  • Ph.D. degree with a major in a relevant scientific or engineering field
