Business Optimization Analyst

Today, all Pie-oneers are working remotely and will continue to do so until it is safe to return to the office. As a remote team member, you will be expected to be available for meetings with team members in other time zones and have access to reliable, high-speed internet.
This role will work in our Denver or DC office once our office re-opens.
How You’ll Do It
As an analyst, you will perform deep dives into Pie’s data, processes, workflows, and phenomena in order to draw actionable insights to improve our business. You have experience working with varied datasets and do not shy away from complicated problems. You are an organizational rockstar and know how to prioritize your work to drive value. You will perform stakeholder interviews and shadowing sessions, formulate testing plans and reports, and deliver critical insights to leaders. You are great at interacting with a wide cast of characters across teams. You are a strategic thinker who leans on data while thinking creatively to solve problems. You’ll use your customer focus to figure out the means and solutions to best serve and support our customers which include small business owners, partner agencies, and vendors.

This role will assist in operational improvement projects across the organization. The analyst role should be able to proactively find areas of improvement within the business and work with operations leaders to develop action plans. Qualified candidates must understand the needs and intent of business processes, as well as the expected outcomes.
The Day-to-Day
- Facilitate Discovery Meetings with key stakeholders at all levels of the business
- Meet with key business stakeholders including managers, leads, and individual contributors to understand points of friction, redundancy and overall process inefficiencies and opportunities and gaps to optimal user experience
- Present research findings and recommendations in engaging ways
- Work with operations leaders to inform the prioritization of the operations roadmap
- Advocate for production teams to Product and Engineering by presenting time study data and workload analysis
- Develop and implement workflows and processes where none exist
- Gather reporting requirements and facilitate report buildouts
- Partner with the Data Engineering team to explore data query and reconciliation projects; focus on data integrity, consistency and sourcing to ensure accurate reporting
- Improve and streamline business processes for all departments
- Improve and streamline business processes for across departments including but not limited to Sales, Business Development, Underwriting, and Customer Success.
- Assist in creating training materials and standard process documentation and carrying out training plans
- Create framework and establish key productivity indicators and other metrics to assess productivity and workflows optimization
- Collaborate with and provide feedback to training content creators.
- Consult managers and team leads on workload management and volume planning.
- Arm front-line managers with critical data regarding the operational production, efficiency, and output of their teams
- Develop a framework for analyzing ROI on production team tools.
The Right Stuff
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent level of experience is required.
- Minimum 2 years of proven operations or analytical experience from a similar role, including revenue/sales ops, project management, business analysis, and/or management consulting.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in analytical skills and using data analysis tools, like excel, salesforce, looker or other data query experience is highly preferred.
- At least 1 year of experience in financial services, insurance, insurtech, and/or startup is highly preferred.
- Certification in data analysis or Lean Six Sigma methodology a plus; coupled with solid understanding of continuous improvement concepts including value stream mapping, customer journey mapping, and change management.
- Knowledge of how to use data driven decision points and project planning tools to drive decisions and designs
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of partners, colleagues, executive leadership and subject matter experts to drive decision making
- Knowledgeable in creating change management materials, presentations and SOPs
- Leadership skills to create personal and project ownership and accountability by providing clear, timely and accurate work objectives, project timelines and measurement goals
- Work progress is monitored by supervisor/manager; incumbent follows precedents and procedures and may set priorities and organize work within general guidelines established by supervisor/manager.

Compensation Range for position: $85,000 - $105,000
Other Benefits: Each year Pie reviews Company performance and may grant discretionary bonuses to eligible team members.
