The Biz Ops team has two main responsibilities:
- Shape how we understand our business
Bringing all the data together and making sense of it. Here’s how we do that:
- Working with senior leadership to understand the key success metrics for the business
- Working with operating teams (e.g., sales, marketing, product, customer success) to translate those key success metrics into metrics that mean something to those teams
- Working with Finance and Business Intelligence to make sure we’re able to reliably measure and track those metrics, which then can serve as the source of truth for the business. This includes building business cases and modeling expected impacts
- Finding opportunities to improve the business and executing them
This is the fun part. We know where we are and where we need to be, so how do we get there?
- Developing sharp insights from the data, such as...
- How can we get better at understanding the paths our customers take to get to us?
- How can we segment our customers in meaningful ways, and how can we target each segment most effectively?
- Executing the most promising opportunities (via prioritization processes) with our operating teams, identifying how we’ll measure success and tracking results accordingly
Qualifications
- Title (analyst, manager, etc.) and compensation are commensurate with experience level
- Demonstrated experience answering business questions with data and analytics
- Demonstrated experience working with internal stakeholders (not just your team/boss) to help you better understand those business questions and put together the most comprehensive answers you can
- Demonstrated experience estimating value (of projects, actions, etc.) and measuring actual outcomes against those estimates
- Data visualization experience (preferably Tableau) is useful, as is any upstream data work (e.g., SQL)
Compensation: Minimum $70k; Annual Bonus Potential + Equity
