Senior Business Intelligence Analyst

As a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst, you’ll sit at the intersection of data, reporting, and analytics to help shape and deliver internal and external business-critical reporting and value-added data insights. You will be responsible for organizing, standardizing, and analyzing our data to tell deeper stories about our business – where we are, where we’ve been, and where we need to go. This role will have a critical impact on the business and our students by providing visibility into and opportunities for improvements across all aspects of our operations.
A day in our open, collaborative workspace might look like:
- Creating, maintaining, and improving executive dashboards and models using our BI platform
- Partnering with business leaders to structure data needs, building, automating, and maintaining business-critical reports to create day-to-day visibility into business performance
- Creating reusable data infrastructure, common datasets, and analytical models for analysts to use
- Proactively driving strategic decision-making through detailed analysis, insights and reporting on key cross-company performance indicators and OKRs in a collaborative manner
- Maintaining a data dictionary that documents and standardizes all data collected
- Monitoring performance, accuracy, and usage of data and reports
- Supporting team members in troubleshooting issues that arise
- Providing training to our business analysts on our available data, SQL querying, and using internal reporting tools
- Collaborating cross-functionally with teams like Data, Salesforce Engineers, Product, Finance, and Student Operations
In this role, you’ll grow and expand your expertise by:
- Helping to build and shape our data infrastructure, including facilitating the transition to our BI tool
- Having the opportunity to work with multiple teams and gain business and functional depth while making a high-impact difference quickly
- Learning the ins and outs of Guild as you use your organizational, multitasking, and problem solving skills in a fast-paced, intense and dynamic environment
You’ll know if you’re successful by:
- Ensuring consistent, accurate, and timely business reporting across Guild
- Ensuring users of reports and dashboards have the information needed to inform day to day and longer term strategic decisions and they are capable of self-service
- Developing proactive business insights based on your analyses
- Helping to foster a culture of data-driven business inquiry by developing digestible reports and dashboards, ensuring quality data output, and providing training and troubleshooting
- Achieving your and your team’s established OKRs and expectations while demonstrating your passion for our mission – you'll receive ongoing feedback through your 1:1 meetings and go through bi-annual Structured Growth Conversations

What you’ll add to Guild – as an individual and part of the broader team:
- 5+ years of relevant analytics and reporting experience
- Very strong SQL and excel modeling skills; knowledge of common data visualization and dashboarding tools such as Looker or Tableau; Salesforce experience a plus
- Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to reporting accuracy
- Analytical, intellectually curious, creative problem-solver who is comfortable going beyond data access to analytics and strategic insights
- Keen design and data visualization skills – you know how to transform data to generate useful insights and be easily digestible
- Strong written and oral communication skills – you can build analytical and decision support models, synthesize recommendations, and create effective presentations for all audiences
- Team player mindset, with strong interpersonal and influencing skills

- BA/BS, preferably in an analytical field such as economics, math, statistics, or computer science
