Business Analyst (Workday)

Position Description
The HR Workday Business Analyst will be part of the HR Strategy and Systems team supporting the People and Culture organization with the design, implementation, tracking and reporting of cross functional Workday system needs. The analyst will work closely with Zayo’s Workday Business System Analysts/Configuration team which leads the configuration work, and will support with requirements collection and reporting.
The role will be responsible for driving continual Workday system enhancement efforts, including working closely with the Workday BSA/Configuration team on process improvements in the areas of Human Capital Management (HCM ), Talent Acquisition (TA), and Talent Development (TD), and the subsequent reporting needs. Additional duties will include, supporting and tracking employee compliance with company policies, payroll and audit processes, compensation structure, and people analytics.
The HR Workday Business Analyst will perform detailed business requirements gathering and analysis, prepare documentation, operational activities in Workday and testing activities. The position will support the HR Strategy and Systems team in meeting objectives, creating and maintaining deliverables, ad-hoc data analysis, understanding data, creating process manuals, and testing support.
In order to be successful, the incumbent will need to exhibit keen attention to detail while remaining aware of broader HR strategy and organizational objectives. Additionally, the role will require strong analytical acumen, an ability to prioritize multiple timelines and competing goals and excellent documentation skills.
Responsibilities
Business Systems Analyst Support:
Workday System Knowledge: Understand how business requirements can be configured in the Workday system and convert functional design needs into system design, documentation, and reporting.
Requirements Gathering: Discover and research system requirements from users, customers, and stakeholders
Documentation: Create and maintain functional team deliverables, including ensuring cross-functional documentation consistency and facilitating deliverable review
Analysis: Conduct ad-hoc analysis for teams within the People and Culture organization
Data: Provide cross-functional understanding of data, support in validation of data loads
Testing: Support the creation of test scripts and scenarios and the execution of testing
Defect Resolution: Detect and resolve bugs during stabilization and optimization
Team Liaison
Build effective working relationships with project team members and key stakeholders across the People and Culture organization, and be the People and Culture liaison with the Workday Business System Analysts/Configuration team.
Communication
Articulate issues for escalation and contribute to key project deliverables.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Information Science, Computer Science or related area
Workday experience.
Minimum three year's experience plus:
Ability to understand business, system, and technical issues and alternatives, and facilitate problem-solving and issue resolution within and across these modalities
Strong project management skills and ability to present findings in a clear and concise manner
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a cooperative effort
Strong customer focus and excellence in relationship management with key partners
Strong attention to detail and ability to problem-solve
Experience acting as a collaborative and supportive member of a team to accomplish project goals
Ability to deal with trade-offs, conflict, and change management in a collaborative and positive manner
Ability to communicate clearly, in writing and orally, to both technical and non-technical audiences
DESIRED:
Knowledge and experience of post-implementation operational support of enterprise-level software systems
Understanding of HR, Talent Acquisition and Development, Payroll, and Compensation business processes
Experience developing and conducting test scenarios
Base salary range: $75,000-$95,000
