The Business Analyst will support the development of the product roadmap, and manage planning and requirements for new and existing products and features, services and improvements. This position is a linchpin of cross team communication between business development, sales, development team, and the customer. 

 

The Business Analyst will also be responsible for interacting with clients to collect and analyze their business requirements and transferring this knowledge to the development teams. The analyst must gain an in-depth knowledge of our products and our clients' businesses, and provide specific input on developing aspects of the product that will meet the client's business needs. 

 

Reporting to the VP of product, program managers, project managers, and director of account management as assigned on a project level. 

 

Responsibilities 

  1. Support software development 

  1. Requirements gathering and analysis - both internally and externally (from clients) 

  1. Prepare accurate and detailed requirement specifications documents (BRD), user interface mock ups, process diagrams 

  1. Manage client expectations and keep them informed and updated on the status and progress of requested changes 

  1. Prepare training guides and functional specification documents 

  1. Design and execute the test scripts and test scenarios 

  1. Train the clients on using the software and optimizing their business processes 

  1. Support product 

  1. Provide suggestions to the product development team during the development stage of product to meet the client's business needs 

  1. Create product requirements documents for development team 

  1. Coordinate roadmap; manage and execute timelines 

  1. Communicate with all stakeholders appropriately 

  1. Support marketing 

  1. Research and develop whitepapers 

  1. Develop input for product sheets 

  1. Attend and exhibit at conferences 

  1. Support sales 

  1. Respond to product questions for RFPs and during sales process 

  1. Provide industry insights 

  1. Potentially demo product and support sales efforts 

  1. Support licensing models and documents creation 

Skills and Qualifications 

  1. Ability to travel 25% to client sites

  2. Minimum of 2 years demonstrated development, product management and/or product owner work experience in an agile software environment 

  1. Experience defining, executing, and delivering on SAAs software and web technology; delivering both backend and frontend solutions 

  1. Understanding insurance as a business 

  1. Ability to manage multiple projects and clearly define different delivery options and their respective tradeoffs. 

  1. Strategic yet action-oriented thinking. Advanced analytical, statistical, quantitative, and deduction skills. 

  1. Strong written and verbal communication skills 

  1. BS/BA in computer science, business, or related discipline. 

  1. Moderate travel might be required for requirements gathering, training, and UAT 

  1. Required experience: Software Product Management: 2 years
