The Business Analyst I works with all areas of the organization, identifying opportunities for improvement in operations and processes. This highly collaborative position interacts with all users and subject matter experts to understand and seek solutions to roadblocks and problem areas. This includes analyzing business needs, documenting requirements and, in collaboration with other members of IT, designing technical solutions. The Business Analyst I participates in the testing of solutions and ensures that systems are properly implemented, including creating system and user documentation, and training. The individual selected for this position is expected to go above the status quo. The Business Analyst I will play a key role in moving both the IT organization and Toastmasters WHQ forward through best practices, up to date knowledge of systems and technology, and outstanding customer service. Description

  • Define and document business functions and processes
  • Identifies and solicits opportunities for business process improvement
  • Consult with functional business unit management and personnel to identify, define and document business needs and objectives, current operational procedures, problems, input and output requirements and levels of systems access
  • Acts as a liaison between department end-users, application developers, managements and other internal personnel in the analysis, design, configuration, testing and maintenance of systems to ensure optimal operational performance
  • Participates in user acceptance testing and testing of new or enhanced system functionality
  • Support Quality Assurance engineers in translating business requirements to test requirements and ensure comprehensive acceptance criteria is well defined
  • Participate actively in requirements analysis, validation, and verification, ensuring that requirement statements are complete, consistent, concise, comprehensible, feasible, unambiguous, and verifiable
  • Effectively communication relevant information to company management
  • Assist in the facilitation of requirements prioritization based on business value
  • Balance technology and business issues as well as communicate appropriately with both technology and business experts
  • Assist in enforcement of project deadlines, schedules and methodologies

Knowledge and Skills

  • Excellent understanding of technology, SDLC and software requirements documentation
  • Detail-oriented, self-driven and diligent professional
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills
  • Ability to translate technical complexities to key business stakeholders and communicate consistent vision
  • Ability to properly scope a project and map out details and requirements using Agile/ Scrum practices
  • Knowledge of Azure DevOps and experience in creating Epics, Feature, Stories and Task.
  • Comfortable asking the hard questions while demonstrating strong team-building and negotiation skills
  • Utilizes a clear and direct approach with an emphasis on improving customer service
  • Solid grasp of current technologies
  • Full life cycle experience in software development including project design, business requirements, functional requirements, development, testing and implementation
  • Ability to learn and understand all areas of operations within the organization
  • Possess strong leadership ability in analyzing, defining and documenting business system process improvements and integrated system requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Management or Computer Science (or similar) preferred
  • 2-4 years of conducting business process analysis, design and documentation
  • Experience with not-for-profit associations a plus

This position pays range of $80,017.60 - $95,014.40. This position is exempt. This role will be working 100% WFH during COVID. When the office re-opens in 2022 it will be in a hybrid schedule (remote/office). We intend to have a vaccine policy in place and it is under development. When working in the office we are following CDC guidelines. In addition, we offer flexible work hours. Our office is located at 9127 S. Jamaica St. Englewood, CO 80112.
