Business Analyst - Business Operations

Position Description
The Business Analyst is responsible for assisting the Tranzact Business Operations team with various data requests as well as process improvements related to Tranzact Operations and the greater Customer Success organization. An ability to be an expert in problem-solving, critical thinking and an understanding of complex system dependencies are essential in enabling the Business Analyst to make decisions that allow for process improvement. This position requires strong attention to detail, as well as interpersonal skills that will assist in cross-team collaboration. An individual with a strong passion to solve problems and improve operational performance will excel in this position. In addition, this individual has to have a knowledge of pulling unique datasets across different objects within Salesforce. This will help with the additional responsibility of maintaining databases that feed into objects in Salesforce and dashboards in Analytics. This role will also be leveraged to provide financial summaries for quarterly capital reviews and occasional revenue summaries related to Zayo’s embedded base of services. Furthermore, this position will be creating requirements for process improvements and working with development teams to ensure improvements are released correctly. The Business Analyst will also play a key role during billing integrations following the close of an acquisition. This role will be leaned on to create legacy services in Salesforce and ensure data quality and accuracy for contacts, accounts, and services before the integration go-live.
Responsibilities
- Become an expert on business operations and automation processes
- Use advance analytical methods to proactively identify improvements
- Track and communicate statuses of business initiatives to management and stakeholders
- Provide requirements to development teams for process improvements and routinely sync with dev teams to ensure proper implementation
- Use SQL or Microsoft Access to create complex datasets across multiple tables in Zayo’s Salesforce warehouse
- Create reports and dashboards in Salesforce and Analytics to provide insights for the Business Operations team
- Maintain databases that are utilized to update records in Salesforce and also feed dashboards in Analytics
- Create various financial summaries related to revenue, capital estimates, and Zayo’s embedded base of services
- Manage day-to-day processes such as account hierarchy merges, vendor expense plan updates and duplicate building cleanup
- Develop timelines and post regular updates for key milestones during billing integrations
- Embed services, contacts, accounts and verify data is correct when migrating from a legacy system following the close of an acquisition
- Run periodic MRR Walks during service migration to ensure service revenue matches the legacy company billing
Qualifications
- 0-2 years of experience with Salesforce.com
- Ability to accurately join multiple relational data sets with many-to-one and one-to-one relationships
- Experience working with GitLab
- Strong understanding of using SQL, R, or Microsoft Access to pull and manipulate data from our warehouse
- Comfortable with understanding and applying material conditional logic
- Capable of independently solving logic-based problems
- Ability to create reports and dashboards within Salesforce.com
- Microsoft Office platform including Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong desire for teamwork and working in group settings
- Capacity to work on multiple projects and meet various deadlines
- Aptitude for learning new/different processes within the company to better understand other data architectures and workflows
- Attention to detail and a basic understanding of aesthetics is essential
- A general understanding of telecom is preferred
