The BI and Data Analyst is a key member to establishing a world-class Advanced Analytics practice at Pax8 delivering intelligent insights. They use skills, expertise, and data to make informed decisions by creating and optimizing tools, reports, and dashboards used to help drive marketing and sales effectiveness, as well as improve operational excellence throughout the company. The Analyst optimizes fully automated BI reporting tools to support business users and executives in making better decisions using data. They develop critical reporting datasets in the data warehouse, interactive dashboards, and static push reporting to support all levels of the company including executive management and customer facing sales and support teams.
Essential Responsibilities and Percentage of Time Spent (includes, but is not limited to):
- Design, develop, and deploy BI solutions using BI technologies and Excel
- Build compelling, interactive, and actionable reporting on top of structured data models
- Work with internal stakeholders to understand their business needs; framing business questions in analytic terms and translating business requirements into datasets, analyses, models, reports, and presentations/visuals suitable for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Analyze new/disparate data sources to integrate with existing datasets to tell a comprehensive BI story
- Operate within the full BI lifecycle from requirements analysis to design/development to release and support/maintenance phases
- Conduct ad hoc reporting and analysis need
Ideal Skills, Experience, and Competencies:
- At least two (2) years of experience of BI reporting or statistical analysis related experience in business, operations, planning/forecasting or financial
- Microsoft Technology experience preferred
- A strong business acumen paired with exceptional technical and analytical skills
- Proven experience building relationships with business stakeholders, and using those relationships to help solve their business challenges
- Demonstrated success in designing, developing, and delivering reporting and analysis with BI tools; able to build a fully functioning report from query to dashboard.
- SQL and DAX development experience (time intelligence, table functions, scalar functions)
- Strong QA and troubleshooting skills
- Experience working with platform data models such as Salesforce.com and Marketo (e.g., understanding data model fundamentals, relationships across objects/tables, etc.)
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookups, functions, macros, charts, etc.; Power Pivot and VBA) are a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; excellent listening skills; high EQ
- Ability to apply sound business judgment
Required Education & Certifications:
B.A./B.S. in related field or equivalent work experience
Compensation:
- Qualified candidates can expect a salary beginning at $74,000 or more depending on experience
*Note: Compensation is benchmarked on local Denver Metro area market rates. Qualified candidates in other locations can expect a salary package that may be adjusted based off applicable cost of wages in their respective location.
