Job Description: Business Intelligence Analyst
Downtown Denver-based Company seeks a dynamic service-oriented professional who has three of more years of experience conducting complex analytics and delivering information assets to support strategic decision making.
This is a very public facing role requiring confidence interacting with ‘C’ level executives on a regular basis. This individual will be a team player who is committed to the rapid delivery of decision support tools while also investing in long-term deliverables for the BI department.

Responsibilities:
- Support diverse initiatives through development of ad hoc decision models and reporting tools. Enable the business to move quickly, act with insight, and continue to excel in our industry.
- Work to identify the most appropriate reporting solutions for the business, balancing speed to information with construction of permanent, automated deliverables.
- Understand business problems and opportunities. Deliver value-adding content daily, providing a steady, visible stream of ROI for the business.
- Assist with Data Quality testing and research
- Perform as a communication liaison among business users to gather requirements, iterate through reporting needs, deliver content, and provide ongoing user support.
- Utilize data visualization tools to deliver insightful dashboards and analyses.
- Assist in the maintenance of our reporting environment
- Develop and maintain necessary datasets using data prep tools and techniques (i.e. Alteryx, SQL procedures).
Required Skills: To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
- Expert level proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including the ability to creatively model out complicated concepts with little history and minimal instruction.
- Expert level understanding of SQL within any of the industry leading platforms (SQL Server, Oracle, etc.)
- Accurate extraction of raw data with complex SQL queries.
- Knowledge of potential table join issues and how to handle them appropriately.
- Conceptual understanding of data warehousing, ERDs, and star schemas.
- Ability to deliver within tight deadlines in a constantly changing business environment, while maintaining flexibility and poise.
- High degree of analytical intelligence, with strong attention to detail.
- An appetite for solving complex problems and messaging solutions to users with varying degrees of analytical experience.
- Proficiency with basic statistical methods and appropriate application within models.
- Must be self-directed and have a persistent hunger for new skills and techniques.
- Understanding of best practices for visualizing data and messaging summaries.
- Ability to accurately and comprehensively gather project requirements and convey these to the BI department.
Qualifications: Candidate must meet the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or Computer Science.
- 0-5 years of experience delivering increasingly complex models, decision support tools, ad hoc research items, and recurring operational reporting.
- Tableau, Alteryx, and Python knowledge are a significant plus.
- Statistics experience is a plus
