Job Description

In this role of Data Scientist, you will be responsible for becoming an expert on Sovrn Audiences. You will use your experience and expertise to conduct experiments, utilize machine learning to build targeting frameworks, and tackle a variety of computer science and modeling problems that will increase overall success and performance of our audience business.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and enhance programmatic solutions for our business
• Develop expertise in audience building techniques
• Ability to experiment and measure the effects of our targeting
• Respond to high priority requests from senior business leaders
• Assist in design and implementation of data science infrastructure
• Partner with our Sales and Data teams to understand complex client asks that can be delivered at scale
• Develop expertise in each data resource, methods to extract and process data (SQL, Hive, Spark, etc...)
• Recognize and adopt best practices in programming and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation
• Analyze and solve problems at their root, stepping back to understand the broader context
• Interface with other technology teams to extract, transform, and load data from a wide variety of data sources

Qualifications

• Education or experience in a quantitative field, advanced degree preferred
• Experience with Python
• Experience with Hive and SQL, Spark a plus
• Strong understanding of experimental design
• Knowledge of fundamental modeling and statistical principles
• Strong communication skills
• Comfortable in fast-paced, start-up environments
