Guild is hiring a UX Writer. This role focuses on crafting our product experience, used by millions of Americans to head back to school. You’ll create bodies of work that facilitate a streamlined experience for our users that help them apply and go back to school. You’ll help define our content strategy and write useful, and meaningful text to facilitate an effortless experience for our users. You’ll be great for this role if you have a knack for making complex topics simple and have skills or organize and document your work to create shared understanding. Our business is highly collaborative, ever-changing, and founded on doing good. 

As UX Writer, you will:

  • Work closely with product teams to gain an understanding of products, particularly customer pain and confusion points
  • Dive deep into the details of copy as well focus on overall product communication 
  • Collaborate with a variety of teammates including designers, researchers, product managers, engineers and marketers
  • Practice data-informed writing using our suite of user research tools and analytics
  • Work across our evolving set of products that touch millions of student lives and Fortune 50 enterprise partners
  • Communicate, participate, and prepare for product walkthroughs, critiques, and reviews in order to continually raise our bar for quality
  • Evaluate touchpoints with users and partner with experience design to craft how language works with experience to construct a logical and equitable narrative in the user journey
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment with ambiguity and changing needs
  • Focus on creating scalable practices for UX writing that emphasize a systematic approach
  • Bring your full self to our growing team and add to our culture and values
  • Create microcopy and long-form content that facilitates user experiences and communicates clear information and instructions
  • Review and refine existing content to reflect modifications to information, style, strategy, or other changes

You are a strong fit for this role if you have:

Required Competencies

  • 2+ years of experience in an individual contributor UX design or writing role 
  • Experience working on a variety of copy from the discovery phase through launch of a product
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment, with an entrepreneurial ownership mentality
  • Care deeply about technical, scalable, and user-centric models of design and writing
