As a UX Content Strategy Lead for Nordstrom’s core web and native app experiences, you are adept at thinking holistically about content as part of a customer experience and shaping the information architecture of digital products and services.
You are both a skilled communicator who articulates complex ideas clearly and concisely, and a systems-thinker who deliberates about how words are organized and structured.
You’ll own and drive high-profile strategic projects to completion in spaces like conversational commerce, brand storytelling, and similar with minimal oversight, collaborating with project partners across the company. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, are a strong advocate for user-centered design, and have a good handle on negotiating both short and long-term visions.

A day in the life…
- Use your deep understanding of user-centered design to create game-changing features and innovative interactions that support Nordstrom’s customer-obsessed approach
- Leverage data and user feedback to drive and influence design decisions, both on the front end and in measuring success
- Develop cross-channel engagement strategies and concepts to connect with customers across web, mobile, and physical stores
- Lead facilitation sessions and workshops across diverse stakeholder groups in design, research, product management, and technology to uncover opportunities and gain alignment
- Focus on developing both a POV and a scalable process for weaving greater conversational design thinking into owned and 3rd party commerce platforms
- Drive the end-to-end CS process from ideation to execution for desktop and mobile device projects
- Create detailed content design deliverables (journey maps, taxonomies, content audits, sample scripts, etc.) that effectively communicate UX thinking and business requirements
- Write and maintain process and/or system documentation for content initiatives such as voice and tone or other scripting guidelines
- Lead and mentor junior team members on user-centered design and content strategy best practices
- Stay up to date regarding current conversational design principles, technology capabilities, emerging trends, and competitive landscape
You own this if you have…
- 6+ years of experience in UX content strategy or content design
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (Human-Computer Interaction, English, Communications, or similar)
- A portfolio of relevant UX writing and content strategy examples, that tells the story of your approach to problem-solving and your creative process
- A high degree of passion and knowledge about user-centered design, UX writing, and information architecture as disciplines
- Prior experience with conversation design within messaging channels or bots
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Demonstrated skill and experience with tools such as Mural, Sketch and Figma
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Demonstrated negotiation and facilitation skills
- Experience with Agile development process a plus
