As an editor, producer, and writer for the customer security operations teams, you will produce high quality content with a consistent style and voice that sets the standard in the industry.

Your security operations peers are filled with stories from our customers, how others can learn from our research, and how every security team can better defend themselves. You will gather information and tell their stories through a variety of mediums and channels including the Red Canary software product, technical documentation, blog, etc.

What You'll Do

  • Edit and format software documentation and product help guides for the Support team 
  • Edit and format technical reports and documents for the Intelligence and Research teams 
  • Translate technical jargon into plain speak
  • Reformat documents into various styles and languages such as Markdown and HTML
  • Repurpose existing assets into new materials to extend their reach and impact
  • Remain up-to-date with the cyber security landscape—including competitors, influencers, and trends—pitching ideas and content for further research

Who You Are

  • 2+ years of editorial, writing, and/or documentation experience 
  • Degree or equivalent experience in English, Journalism, Communications, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Familiarity with various formatting styles, and a willingness to learn more 
  • Ability to understand the technical details of product features and capabilities to create narratives that engage prospects and customers and facilitate conversations
  • Can translate highly technical concepts into compelling narratives using plain language
  • Proactive with the flexibility to work independently as well as collaboratively

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working directly with or on technical teams
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with a wide variety of information security concepts
  • Experience with editing and publishing content in multiple formats including Markdown, YAML, and HTML
