POSITION SUMMARY:

 

ArcherDX's patented chemistry and powerful bioinformatics software have placed us at the bleeding edge of the fight against cancer and other genetic diseases. You'll join a multidisciplinary team focused on creating tools for the democratization of personalized medicine.

 

We are seeking a talented Software Technical Writer to join our expanding team. The successful applicant will be responsible for creating technical documents and manuals, explain complex information in a clear and concise manner and working with technical staff to ensure accuracy of product descriptions. You will be working alongside a talented group of software and DevOps engineers to document new and existing processes, help the team organize and centralize all documentation efforts, and help create process documentation and work instruction for the team to follow.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Job performance will involve a variety of activities including:

  • Develop comprehensive documentation for regulated products that meets organizational standards
  • Document software life cycles processes in accordance with FDA standards
  • Obtain a deep understanding of products and services to translate complex product information into simple, polished, and engaging content
  • Write user-friendly content that meets the needs of the target audience, turning insights language that sets our users up for success
  • Evaluate current content and develop innovative approaches for improvement
  • Research, outline, write, and edit new and existing content, working closely the software department to understand project requirements
  • Independently gather information from subject matter experts to develop, organize, and write procedure manuals, technical specifications, and process documentation
  • Study product samples and talk with product designers and developers
  • Work with technical staff to make instructions easier to use
  • Edit material prepared by other writers or staff
  • Collect user feedback to update and improve content

EXPERIENCE:

  • 2-4 years industry experience as an effective technical writer
  • Experience documenting software lifecycle processes and frameworks
  • Experience writing in a regulatory framework (e.g. FDA, ISO, other) is required
  • Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex topics
  • Previous experience writing documentation and procedural materials for multiple audiences
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail
  • Experience working with engineering to improve user experience: design, UI, and help refine content and create visuals and diagrams for technical support content

KEY ATTRIBUTES:

  • Firm understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC)
  • Experience working in a regulated environment
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, with an eye for prioritization
  • Previous technical writing experience

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent work experience
