E Source provides independent research, analytics, and consulting and advisory services to utilities and other key players in the energy marketplace. E Source is looking for an energetic, passionate, and experienced senior-level consultant to join this fast-paced, growing area of the company. We are looking for expertise in customer experience and a proven record of meeting clients’ needs in a fast-paced consulting environment.

The Senior Consultant will manage large projects to create and deliver consulting solutions while interfacing directly with clients. Our consulting team provides timely, cutting-edge, best-practice solutions to utilities and other energy-related companies in the areas of customer experience (including journey mapping), business account management, marketing and communications, and utility programs and services. Our offerings may expand and evolve as dictated by market needs.

This solutions-focused individual will serve as one of the primary customer-facing experts within the E Source Consulting and Advisory Services and will proactively collaborate with members of E Source’s Marketing & Sales, Research, and Content Management teams. He or she will also help provide strategic guidance and oversight to the consulting team. It will be essential for the Senior Consultant to have excellent communication skills, solid problem-solving talents, and a passion for delivering on-target consulting solutions.

The Senior Consultant reports to the SVP of Consulting and Advisory Services. This is a full-time position based at E Source’s headquarters in Boulder, Colorado. Working remotely is possible if a candidate has a proven ability to do so.

Responsibilities:

  • Work independently or with a team to create content and deliver actionable consulting services that meet our client’s needs and align with E Source objectives.
  • Manage projects effectively and ensure that quality, on-time, on-budget and customer-focused consulting services are delivered.
  • Prudently manage individual work contributions, expenses, and project delivery to help ensure the profitability of the consulting practice and E Source overall.
  • Develop new sales opportunities with clients and in collaboration with the E Source business development team. This includes scoping solutions to client needs and writing proposals and RFPs.
  • Manage projects and deliver solutions onsite with clients. Travel is required, may often be sporadic with short scheduling horizon, and may represent up to 70 percent of overall time in a given year.
  • Build relationships and maintain contact with E Source customers and prospective customers, including on-site visits for consulting delivery projects.
  • Collaborate with our marketing department to demonstrate thought leadership through presentations at industry events, white papers and other activities.

Qualifications:

  • BS or BA degree in marketing, management, business, or related area; an MBA is a plus.
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience relevant to the utility industry, preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of consulting experience, preferred
  • Experience and comprehensive product and industry knowledge in multiple disciplines of customer experience, marketing, customer service (such as call center operations, web and IVR design, digital, and social media strategy), journey mapping, or business/utility strategy and planning.
  • Exceptional presentation skills and experience.
  • Ability to work in high-pressure environment with tight deadlines and abstract work products.
  • Professional demeanor.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven decision-making and problem-solving skills.
