Internal Communications Specialist

We are currently seeking an energetic Internal Communications Specialist to play a vital role in the daily workings of our company news and information channels.
Vertafore is a 1,500-person insurance technology company with locations across the U.S. and Canada. The Internal Communication Specialist will be responsible for a variety of duties, spanning from editorial to project management. The right candidate for this position is motivated and self-driven, with a passion for asking questions to uncover the best stories. The candidate will also be comfortable writing and producing stories and multi-media projects under deadline in a fast-paced environment, with high visibility to the Executive Team.
Responsibilities:
- Write and edit content for distribution through a variety of internal channels
- Manage editorial calendar for internal communication deliverables
- Produce multi-media content for all-company meetings and other employee events
- Schedule and coordinate periodic company all-hands meetings
- Review and edit all-company communications from other departments/Executive Team prior to distribution to ensure quality, accuracy, relevance, and the consistency of the Vertafore voice
- Assist on projects with other members of the Marketing/Communications team, as requested
- Develop strong working relationships with employees across the company in order to maintain sources of news and information
- Become an expert in all-things Vertafore to enable coverage of relevant topics to all employees
Skills & Requirements
Requirements:
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Experience writing and producing across print, video, photography, web, and social media
- Experience with email automation programs (Marketo, Eloqua, Constant Contact)
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite products
- Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy in all finished products
- Expertise in MS Office suite, especially PowerPoint
- Bachelor’s Degree in communication, journalism, PR, or related field – or equivalent work experience
- Ability to travel occasionally to other offices or to industry conferences
