POSITION SUMMARY
AdAction Interactive is seeking a Director of Content Strategy to join our team as we look to create a best in class global content lab, comprised of new strategies, people, processes and capabilities, integrated to deliver business results. The Director will work with our Growth (SEO, etc) and Product teams in a collaborative partnership to develop and execute the Company’s top growth initiatives. As an expert in content they will partner with the Product Team to serve content that drives value for end users and associated engagement with AdAction’s product suite.
The Director serves as the creative strategist and content lead — and often the lead writer — on our growth strategy and content marketing projects, ensuring outstanding management and execution of deliverables to support that strategy. They will be focused on a global content strategy leveraging the latest in content technology and methodologies and will ensure we are using the most relevant and efficient tools to support rapid, high-quality delivery.
The role requires an individual with excellent analytical abilities as well as project and program management skills. You must be a self-starter with strong attention to detail, capable of diving deep, working cross functionally and able to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Your experience should include cross-platform content strategy, thought leadership, and creative ideation. The Director should be able to lead creative, strategically informed ideas and work with our analytics team to assign KPIs and measurement plans for these programs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and lead the execution of strategic content programs, frequently incorporating UX principles, SEO fundamentals and web content best practices.
- Oversee integrated content development for a wide variety of assets, including social media, web, ebook, etc.
- Translate user and business requirements into content strategy solutions within complex project environments.
- Create research-driven, business-focused content strategies through stakeholder interviews, website data analytics, content audits, gap analyses and more.
- Collaborate with and manage internal and external creative teams for key departmental content functions including SEO support, freelance writer support and paid media support.
- Stay abreast of content systems and methodologies with a focus on the most effective, efficient, and scalable outcomes.
- Help maintain channel content schedules and establish process to effectively track content produced by different marketing teams
- Be responsible for end-to-end editorial process from ideation, writing, editing, fact-checking and proofreading for all digital content
- Develop and track metrics and success criteria for all program activities.
- Lead the creative, content-focused marketing strategy on AdAction’s owned and operated properties as well as home domain to maximize organic traffic.
- Partner with Data Analytics division to provide weekly, monthly and quarterly reports to demonstrate success.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- 5+ years experience as a content marketer, copywriter and strategist, including meaningful web content strategy and writing experience.
- B.S. or B.A. degree in Marketing, Journalism ,English, or related field required.
- Solid understanding of SEO fundamentals, including search-social relationships.
- Knowledge of digital writing best practices and user experience principles.
- Extensive experience with content management concepts and technologies, including information architecture, multimedia, localization and translation, and content management systems.
- Demonstrated history of innovative thinking in content strategy.
- Diverse work experience/background; business curiosity and a strategic viewpoint.
- Self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines on multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail (manage ambiguity; be prepared to get involved).
- Digitally savvy and experienced, with a required and demonstrated comfort level working with data, metrics and emerging technologies
- Confident decision maker with a strong ability to prioritize the most impactful opportunities.
- Demonstrated success in leading content teams to drive measurable business impact.
