WHO YOU ARE... 

As the Content Creator at Maxwell, you will work to expand our brand reach and grow our thought leadership through the creation of targeted content pieces. In this role, you’ll be responsible for writing and editing blog articles, white papers, and ebooks, as well as developing copy for social media, press releases, ads, and other ad hoc projects. The ability to understand an audience and craft engaging content geared towards that segment’s interests, goals, and pain points will be crucial for success. If you’re an independent worker with a detail-oriented eye for language, but also thrive in a collaborative setting where you can bring your ideas and analysis to the table, this is the role for you.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING...

  • Work closely with the Director of Content to craft content and execute on the editorial calendar
  • Write, edit, and source quotes for written content, including blog articles, white papers, ebooks, press releases, ads, social media posts, and other thought leadership pieces
  • Stay up-to-date on industry happenings and trends to inform the creation of timely contentIdentify opportunities for content syndication, partnerships, co-branded pieces, and backlinking
  • Help shape and evolve Maxwell’s style guide based on target audience research
  • Measure content performance via Google Analytics, SEMRush, etc.
  • Collaborate with other members of the Growth & Marketing team to build out pillar pieces of content to achieve long term SEO goals
  • Interview and glean insight from thought leaders within and outside of the organization to increase Maxwell’s authority within the industry
  • Test content formats, topics, and mediums to determine what resonates with prospective customers
  • Provide ideas, input, and feedback to help position Maxwell as a leading content provider in the mortgage industry

IDEALLY YOU'LL HAVE...

  • Prior experience in professional writing, editing, and social media, as well as a strong portfolio of work
  • While we don't expect people in this role to know everything about mortgages, a general understanding of and interest in how technology is driving innovation within this space is a need to have!
  • Confidence in researching and writing about data, trends, and numbers
  • Experience in Google Analytics, WordPress, and the analytics tools of Facebook and LinkedIn 
  • Working knowledge of on-page SEO best practices
  • Ability to communicate complex financial topics simply and in an engaging manner
  • Analytical mindset towards gauging content success and making data-driven decisions
  • Capability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Excellent research, organizational, and time management skills
  • A desire for and skillset to develop and grow new talent to take on more responsibilities

Compensation Range: $65,000-$75,000
