Exam Development Specialist II

An Exam Development Specialist II will develop and evolve exams that will impact the careers of software professionals as they transform their enterprises.

 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Plan and perform all exam development-related activities
  • Mentor other specialists and assistants
  • Collaborate with and guide subject matter experts on exam development-related activities
  • Actively participate in and conduct meetings to discuss organizational decisions that impact certifications.
  • Grow and maintain a repository of exam questions, technical metrics, and reporting
  • Lead or co-facilitate exam-related workshops 
  • Support initiatives such as tooling, metrics, and test security
  • Support exam translation work including working with SAI’s globalization team
  • Lead content development teams on performance-based assessments
  • Create microcredentials as needed

Skills and experience that are important for the role:

This is an expert-level role. An Exam Development Specialist II is fully competent and able to perform tasks independently and without assistance.

Your knowledge and skills should include:

  • 6 or more years of experience with exam development including but not limited to facilitation, item writing training, item review/editing, key validation/in-service review, job analyses, exam auditing, creation and maintenance of multiple forms, beta testing and analysis, standard-setting
  • Ability to:
    • Work collaboratively with team members and internal and external subject matter experts
    • Review, maintain, and analyze exam data to make decisions of item and exam quality
    • Prioritize concurrent processes and projects to meet established goals, deadlines, and quality standards
    • Set and meet aggressive timelines while employing the ability to pivot
    • Uphold test security and confidentiality processes at all times
    • Speak and present data or other certification-related material to internal and external customers in an understandable way
    • Take an authoritative stance during meetings with both internal and external customers 
    • Perform and complete tasks independently
    • Continuously innovate and try to improve the cert program
    • Research and suggest new processes/tools
    • Identify and work to automate processes

Strongly recommended but not required:

  • A degree in Education, Psychology (assessment and evaluation), business, or a closely related area
  • Familiarity with Lean-Agile principles and practices
  • Familiarity with work or project management tools such as Rally

Compensation:

Scaled  Agile is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this role is $75,000-95,000. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, and certifications.

Employees of Scaled Agile are also compensated with a competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, optional insurance products including pet insurance, 401K with a match,  flexible paid time off, company-paid sabbatical after six years of service, bonus plan, and equity options.

We are located in Northeast Boulder, situated on the hill above Valmont Bike Park, offering a wonderful view of the Mountains. Most of our employees continue to work remotely while at the same time we enjoy the ability to gather for planning and lunch is served on Wednesdays.
