Role Purpose
The Lifestyle Category Editor is responsible for the research, acquisition, development of long and short form digital content within the areas of photography, papercrafting, DIY home decor, and general creativity for makers of all types. The category editor works to ensure lifestyle content merchandised by Craftsy is differentiated and on brand, and prioritizes building strong relationships with experts and staying on top of emerging trends. This role will partner broadly across the production, marketing, eCommerce and Strategic Partnerships teams to develop this vertical on the Craftsy site, Craftsy YouTube channel, and in NBCU show integrations, while also serving as the voice for these audiences internally at Craftsy.
Responsibilities
● Research, scope, acquire, and design content across the various lifestyle content areas that range from deep instructional content to edutainment
● Distinguish between audience subsets in a given vertical, understanding what’s core for each and designing content to support those varied constituencies
● Develop talent networks and collaborate with subject matter experts in your categories to design learning experiences that fuel digital content innovation
● Collaborate with cross-functional teams to pitch new content formats, frames and structures to support business objectives and new business models
● Support marketing and merchandising goals and objectives to speak authentically to our audiences
● Serve as a category resource throughout the organization
● Collaborate with Strategic Partnerships and NBCU to ensure that category-specific partnerships are smoothly executed

Basic Qualifications
● Experience designing, teaching and/or writing informational, how-to, educational or edutainment content for video and/or print
● Demonstrated content acquisition and editorial expertise in an elite online environment
● Professional expertise or a personal passion for content that nests within our lifestyle content umbrella
● Flexibility and ability to work across multiple organizational functions with distinct goals
● Ability to independently manage multiple tasks and deadlines
