What you'll do

Billtrust is seeking a modern, growth-oriented Chief Marketing Officer to provide vision, strategy and execution across marketing disciplines for our Payment Cycle Management product portfolio. You are creative, highly collaborative, able to gain buy-in and influence outcomes. You have deep experience in B2B marketing and how to drive and accelerate growth and profitability within a competitive landscape. As a data-driven decision-maker, you will operate in an agile capacity to maximize and optimize marketing contribution to the business and take advantage of new market opportunities. 

 

Reporting to our CEO, you will build, manage and scale best-in-class, specialized marketing programs to achieve business objectives. The Chief Marketing Officer will have a significant strategic impact on the direction of our company.

 

  • Partner with leaders across the company to translate the business objectives into cohesive, comprehensive go-to-market strategies and programs.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Partner and Product groups to continuously refine go-to-market plans across multiple segments, verticals, product, channels and geographies. Embrace a service mentality to the Sales team to foster alignment and partnership with the CRO, through open communication and a shared measurement methodology.
  • Position the company as a thought leader among customers, in the press and analyst communities, and against competitors. Refine, improve and align the organization on product and solution value propositions.
  • Recruit, develop, and grow a world-class distributed team of Communications, Content, Revenue Marketing, and Product Marketing professionals. Continually assess the existing team to identify specific organizational needs and talent opportunities, discern coaching and mentoring opportunities, and implement the optimal leadership and organizational changes necessary to profitably delivery against the company plan.
  • Continually optimize and scale a systematized, account-based revenue marketing engine in support of new logo and client expansion initiatives. Embrace a sales-driven approach that compels prospects and customers, and drives overall marketing effectiveness through modern marketing methods. Ensure KPIs are well defined and understood cross-organizationally.
  • Manage all aspects of marketing budgeting and reporting

What you'll bring to the team

  • Proven ability to successfully lead marketing strategy and execution for a complex software product portfolio – 15+ years of relevant, progressive experience in high-growth SaaS companies that scaled to $100M+
  • Deep experience and thorough understanding of B2B marketing with emphasis in product marketing and demand generation to go along with a wide breadth of marketing exposure
  • Ability to plan and execute scalable go-to-market strategies to support company, sector and product growth – Both organic and inorganic
  • Ability to build, manage and foster a highly-productive, team-oriented, agile culture
  • An understanding of the sales pipeline, key drivers, and the role that marketing plays at each stage of the buyer and customer journeys
  • Demonstrated track record of building positive, productive relationships across Sales, Product, Partner, Professional Services and other departments
  • Ability to influence others and gain buy-in at the team, peer and executive level
  • Effective data-driven decision making ability in order to accelerate product strategy execution
  • Experience in a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), payments and/or product-centric business
  • Bachelor degree in Marketing, Business or related field; MBA or advanced degree a plus
  • Comfortable with up to 10-25% travel

Location

Our Denver office is located just east of downtown, several miles from Denver Intl Airport. Our Boulder office is on Arapahoe Ave by Boulder Creek.
