We are expanding our team! Our next Buyer/Trader will enjoy the challenge of identifying and creating innovative purchasing opportunities. We are looking for candidates who have experience in the electronic components industry and have dealt with excess inventory and component shortages.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Prospecting for new accounts and mapping out your developed and assigned account base in order to pull in or create new product availabilities and to make proactive offers.
- Make prompt business decisions about whether to buy particular assets in any particular situation and maintain appropriate business margins.
- Create supply and sales opportunities by utilizing the X-Trade system.
- Negotiate and close purchase orders
- Develop and implements strategic purchase programs at key accounts.
- Meet assigned metrics including daily phone time, new prospect development, and maintaining customer relationships.
- Staying up to date on market conditions including customer/vendor base and their availabilities and requirements, pricing and competitive alternatives.
- Ensuring adherence to Converge credit requirements.
- Consistently updating the information database.
- Working with Senior Traders, Commodity Managers, Sales Managers, Order Management, Asset recovery Group, Converge regional offices, and Sales to ensure an excellent customer experience
- Working with all team members to maximize buy-side and sell-side trading opportunities.
- Developing new and unique customers and accounts
What We Are Looking For
- At least 3 years’ experience and a proven record of success in similar role, buyer/trader experience with an industrial independent or franchised distributor is a plus
- Experience buying and selling excess or surplus technology products is strongly preferred
- Understanding of the purchase order process.
- Proven ability to develop business relationships and penetrate and grow opportunities from new and existing accounts
- Advanced problem solving and issue management skills
- Highly motivated professionals with a passion for buying and selling
- Ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines, and always maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- The ability to change gears quickly, work well under pressure, meet deadlines, multitask and work in several systems simultaneously
- Quick-thinking, problem solving and issue management skills
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
