The Leidos Digital Modernization Sector is seeking an experienced Business Analyst; this position will allow for full time telework from any U.S. based location.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Leidos Chief Data & Analytics Office (CDAO) is a new, high-growth organization at the center of the company's technology strategy. We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Business Analyst to join our Business Operations team. This role is essential for ensuring that our strategic technology projects are tightly aligned with business needs and deliver maximum value.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Business Analyst will act as a critical liaison between our business stakeholders and our technical pillars (AI, Data, Intelligent Automation, etc.). This individual will be responsible for deeply understanding business processes, eliciting and documenting requirements, and translating them into clear, actionable specifications for our development teams. This position reports to the Director of CDAO Business Operations and is key to driving clarity and precision in our project execution.

  • Requirements Elicitation & Management: Lead workshops and interviews with stakeholders to elicit, analyze, validate, and document business requirements for complex technology initiatives.
  • Process Analysis & Optimization: Conduct "as-is" process analysis to identify inefficiencies and pain points. Collaborate with teams to design streamlined "to-be" processes that leverage our CDAO capabilities.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Build strong partnerships with business users, technical leads, and project managers to ensure a shared understanding of project goals and requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Technical Translation: Translate business needs into clear, unambiguous technical requirements, including user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows (BPMN), and functional specifications.
  • Data Analysis & Validation: Work with data owners and technical teams to analyze data sources, define data requirements, and ensure that solutions meet business needs for reporting and insights.
  • Documentation & Communication: Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, ensuring that requirements and process changes are clearly communicated and accessible to all stakeholders.
  • Solution Validation: Partner with QA and business users to define test cases and participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure that developed solutions meet the original business objectives

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Economics, or a related field; additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
  • 8+ years of experience in a Business Analyst role, preferably within a technology or data-centric organization.
  • Proven experience in requirements elicitation, process mapping, and creating business and functional documentation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to deconstruct complex problems into actionable components.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience working in an agile/Scrum environment and writing effective user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Familiarity with business process modeling notation (BPMN) and tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart).
  • Experience with requirements management tools like Jira or Azure DevOps.
  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or similar certification is a plus.
  • Exposure to data, AI/ML, or business intelligence projects.

Come break things (in a good way). Then build them smarter.

We're the tech company everyone calls when things get weird. We don’t wear capes (they’re a safety hazard), but we do solve high-stakes problems with code, caffeine, and a healthy disregard for “how it’s always been done.”
