VetsEZ is seeking a Cloud Engineer to support a Department of Veterans Affairs project. This role will design, implement, and manage secure, scalable cloud infrastructure in AWS and Azure, while supporting DevOps initiatives and CI/CD automation across environments. The ideal candidate will bring deep cloud knowledge, scripting expertise, and experience with infrastructure automation.
The candidate must reside within the continental US.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement cloud architectures using AWS and Azure services (EC2, S3, RDS, Azure VMs, Blob Storage, Kubernetes, etc.).
- Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates.
- Manage deployments via GitHub Actions and CI/CD pipelines.
- Monitor system performance, resolve cloud-related issues, and ensure high availability.
- Implement security best practices including access control, encryption, and compliance alignment.
- Collaborate with development teams to translate application requirements into scalable cloud solutions.
- Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience with Azure and AWS cloud platforms.
- Strong scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD tools.
- Solid understanding of networking (VNETs, VPNs, Load Balancing), cloud security, and DevOps principles.
- Experience managing containerized apps and orchestrating with Kubernetes.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Additional Qualifications:
- One or more of the following certifications: Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert, Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, or AWS Certified Advanced Networking.
- Experience with SAFE/Agile.
- Ability to obtain a government clearance
