Bond Vet is on a mission to strengthen the human-animal bond through better pet care. We offer primary and urgent care, so we’re there for pets when they need us most. Our clinics are designed with pets and people in mind: warm, friendly, and highly sniffable. We balance this design with a strong focus on technology, all built in-house, which means we can easily innovate our systems to improve the veterinary team, pet, and client experience.

About the Role:

Bond Vet is building the next generation of veterinary clinics from the ground up and we're looking for a people-first, detail-oriented HR professional to help support our growing team. This role is ideal for someone early in their HR career who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, can maintain organization and is passionate about building strong, trusting relationships with employees and leaders alike. You'll gain hands-on experience in core HR functions, such as employee relations, leave management, and policy interpretation while contributing to the overall success of the People Team and the employee lifecycle.

This is a hybrid role primarily remote, with candidates ideally located in the Tristate area. The role requires travel to clinics (20%).

What You’ll Do:

  • Support the Senior Manager of HRBPs in managing day-to-day people needs across assigned clinics and regions
  • Provide exemplary service to internal teams while helping to resolve a high volume of low- to mid-level employee relations matters in a timely and solutions-oriented way
  • Provide assistance with administrative people processes including coordinating exit interviews, promotions, and other job changes.
  • Partner with clinic leaders to provide guidance on basic HR policies and procedures

  • Partner with Senior Managers of HRBP to roll out and communicate key People initiatives - performance management, compensation, benefits, training and development programs
  • Visit clinics in your assigned regions as needed to build in-person relationships, provide hands-on support, and foster a strong HR presence at the ground level
  • Build strong relationships with clinic management and leadership teams
  • Be detail oriented regarding employee data, ensuring employee data integrity at all times.

  • You are local to the DMV area
  • You have a high degree of empathy and are a great communicator
  • You have great organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to complete competing priorities
  • You thrive in a fast paced environment where no two days are the same
  • You have integrity and maintain confidentiality of our people data & analytics and use good judgment on a daily basis
  • You have some experience supporting both non-exempt and exempt employee types
  • You are strong a team player and willing to assist other team members when needed
  • You have a passion for understanding the goals of the organization and improving team processes

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of HR experience
  • Basic knowledge of employment law
  • SHRM, HRCI or other HR certificate is a plus
  • Experience in veterinary medicine/ healthcare a plus

We Offer:

  • Support for your physical and mental wellness: 100% covered health insurance, low cost dental & vision, access to mental health support programs
  • Time for you and loved ones: great PTO, paid parental leave, discounted Bond Vet services for pets
  • Dedication to your financial future: competitive pay, 401k match, commuter benefits. Compensation will fall between $65,000-$80,000 annually based on experience
  • A place to grow: culture that is centered in learning and development, career pathing, mentorships, empowerment and trust

Our Values:

We’re obsessed with pets: The love we feel for animals drives us to do our best. We work with initiative, positivity and warmth to bridge the gap between human and pet, focusing on wellness to keep a better, stronger bond.
