Based in Denver and reporting directly to the Controller, the Accounts Payable Specialist has the opportunity to join Convercent at a critical point in the company's growth trajectory. The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for accounts payable processing and entry, in an effective and efficient manner, to ensure payables are accurate and up-to-date, and vendors are paid in a timely and appropriate manner. This position has a great growth opportunity, too!

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Assist in the entire Accounts Payable life cycle - from receipt and routing of incoming vendor invoices for approval, to preparation of weekly check runs and vendor file maintenance. This will include:
    • Entering invoices into accounting system
    • Reconciling and verifying invoice amounts to Purchase Orders
    • Routing invoices for approval
    • Investigating and resolving vendor disputes
    • Processing employee expense reports
  • Assist in compilation of sales and use tax monthly and quarterly payment amounts
  • Assist in preparation of various analyses
  • Perform month end cash reconciliations and other Treasury related job duties
  • Calculate AP accruals for month end
  • File and organize AP supporting documentation and improve the AP process
  • Perform other job-related duties as required
  • Perform weekly collection calls/follow-up
  • Adhoc projects as assigned by Controller or executive management

Extras:

  • Continuously improve and effectively communicate all accounting processes; must be capable of providing staff process orientations
  • Play a role in the implementation of new accounting software, process and systems improvements
  • Familiar with account reconciliations, general ledger and various accounting functions

Desired Skills/Experience:

  • AA Degree in accounting or business administration
  • At least 5 years of hands-on general ledger accounting experience.
  • Software or technology sector experience a plus
  • Strong understanding of QuickBooks coupled with advanced Excel skills
  • Passion for using software applications to improve job effectiveness.
  • Self-directed, resourceful, with an agile mind – you can switch priorities quickly and your memory is remarkable.
  • Passionate about and committed to making deadlines.
  • Eager to learn, grow and challenge themselves
