These are the groups of people who too often struggle to make the difficult transition from teenager to adult, especially when it comes to entering the workforce.
Of every 100 Denver Public School (DPS) students, only 56 graduate, 26 go on to some form of college and only 9 get an advanced degree.
There are 88,000 students in DPS, meaning only 7,290 will earn a degree. So what happens to the 80,000 who, statistically, won't be college educated?

The high school dropout, the veteran of the foster care system and the immigrant from Vietnam are amongst the first batch of participants who've taken part in our first-ever, 8-week web & professional development bootcamp at SeedPaths, a new technology training company in Denver.
During the program, participants learn software skills such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, and SQL. The program also teaches professional development around emotional intelligence, problem solving, growth mindedness and more. Students are set to earn $1,000 upon achieving various metrics.
After 7 weeks in the program, all of the students are ScrumMaster certified, an industry recognized project management methodology. Later this week, they'll have the opportunity to share their portfolios with 30+ potential employers & hiring managers during our Expo Days events. Several should command entry level salaries of $32,000-$40,000.
