A high school dropout. A veteran of the foster care system. A recent immigrant from Vietnam.
These are the groups of people who too often struggle to make the difficult transition from teenager to adult, especially when it comes to entering the workforce.
Of every 100 Denver Public School (DPS) students, only 56 graduate, 26 go on to some form of college and only 9 get an advanced degree.
There are 88,000 students in DPS, meaning only 7,290 will earn a degree. So what happens to the 80,000 who, statistically, won't be college educated?
If they're interested in a job in the IT industry, SeedPaths offers a unique pathway into this in-demand job market.
The high school dropout, the veteran of the foster care system and the immigrant from Vietnam are amongst the first batch of participants who've taken part in our first-ever, 8-week web & professional development bootcamp at SeedPaths, a new technology training company in Denver.
After 7 weeks in the program, all of the students are ScrumMaster certified, an industry recognized project management methodology. Later this week, they'll have the opportunity to share their portfolios with 30+ potential employers & hiring managers during our Expo Days events. Several should command entry level salaries of $32,000-$40,000.
As a company, SeedPaths is dedicated to changing the lives of thousands of young adults by giving them opportunities and opening doors into one of the hottest growth industries today.
To keep this momentum going, SeedPaths needs to find more participants for their second 8-week bootcamp of the year, which begins on April 7th.
Do you know anyone (ages 16-30 with a H.S. diploma or GED) who's dedicated to exploring a career in the IT industry? Send them to SeedPaths and help change someone's life by giving them the opportunity they can't get anywhere else.
