One of the big announcements scheduled to come out of Denver Startup Week 2013 will be this: Galvanize, perhaps the premier startup co-working space in the city, is expanding to a second location.

The new Galvanize campus will be located at 1644 Platte St., about three miles from its first building at 1062 Delaware St.

Unlike the original, which occupies a remodeled space, Galvanize 2 will be built from the ground up.

The new, four-story-building is expected to feature 78,000-square-feet of workspace, more than double the size of the original location, Galvanize co-founder and tech veteran Jim Deters told me Monday night at a Denver Startup Week event.

Deters is scheduled to officially unveil the second Galvanize location, which I’ll dub G2, at a Denver Startup Week event on Wednesday evening.

When Deters launched Galvanize a year ago at the inaugural Denver Startup Week, civic leaders hailed it as a crucial piece of Denver’s efforts to grow its entrepreneurial community.
